You need a CNI and it needs to be certified too. Best to phone the registrar to book an appointment.

see this link.

You only need the CNI and then the Philippines equivalent of that which you will get from the British embassy in Manila when you present your CNI there. You should also take your decree absolute if your divorced and your birth certificate just in case. What is this other certificate that your gf thinks that you need? I think it may just be the CNI you get from the embassy in Manila.

This is correct. My husband only brought his CNI and my CENOMAR when he went to the British Embassy Manila last May (2008).

I can only think that the 'other' certificate your gf mentions is the local equivalent of the CNI, which you obtain at the UK embassy in Manila by showing your UK CNI.

i think your friend might have heard of the following 'require all sponsors to register their intention to marry overseas before they leave the UK'

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/marriagevisaageraisedtoprevent

but i don't think many of the new rules will start til nov or later, so if your getting married in Dec, you better make sure you are aware of any rule changes :yikes:
