Hello. Sorry for asking this question again, but do not have the answer i was looking for.....

Taking my CNI to the embassey to exchange so that i can get married in the philippenes, however some people on this forum tell me: i do not need the cenomar;some people tell me i do; some say i need original;some say copy is fine..... which one?

If i need original, how do i get it from Davao PH to Plymouth Uk? I fly 13th September

And finally......Is it safe to book my internal flight before i get to the Phillipenes? i.e delay in getting CNI

Cheers :Hellooo:

I think i got the right end of the stick once you got the paper from the registrar in the UK.

You just need to pop along to the Brit emabssy in phill.

From what i remeber with cert in hand and your passport to get in the buliding.

The cert your converting is just for you the brit spouse and you dont need the better halfs cennomar

RE visiting British Embassy in Manila.

Unless they have changed anything as a result of an official complaint I made, visitors are not allowed into the Embassy carrying anything other than paperwork. My wife to be had a very small clutch bag with basic necessities (wrong time of month). There was no facility for leaving the bag thus she had to stand outside whilst I went in. It was probably the first time she had been alone anywhere other than in her home town and she was very frightened.

As were coming to live in Spain we had several visits to the Spanish Embassy. They were friendly, helpful and had a facility for leaving bags with the reception.

So beware, if you want to visit the 'user friendly' British Embassy.

you don't need a conomar just give your CNI and a passport and they change it for local CNI and thats better to book an appointment to the manila embassy before you going to PI

I was allowed (in fact, I was forced) to leave my phone at the security desk on the ground floor of the embassy building.

That was in January this year. I had no papers with me apart from my UK CNI and my passport. I had no appointment, and it took no longer than 40 minutes. Ruby waited outside with the taxi.

yes i was treated same way, but the misses and mother in law went inside the embassy with me, but that was like nearly 6yrs ago, good to be greeted by a guard carrying a machine gun :D and telling you you couldn't take much inside the embassy with you :NoNo:
