Hi everyone,

We are looking for some advice, me and my gf ( who is from the philippines ) are preparing our application for a fiance visa. We was approved a visit visa in May and to help us with this, we used this forum to find out reasons why others were refused, so we could avoid the same mistakes. Of course we looked at the successful posts but we found by pinpointing the weak areas in other applications helped more. So we intended to use the same strategy for our fiance visa, but when we have looked on past entries we have not found many failed applications.

In short our application is genuine and solid, we have everything they are asking for, our weak area is going to be the financial side because i have just started working after completing a teaching course, i am on a good salary and my expenses are really low, also i do have pay slips and bank statements for the last 6 months, but i have no savings, my Gf has about £2000, we will be living at my parents home and they will be able to conform we will be paying no official rent ( only contributions with shopping etc) and that if we was to suffer financial hardship they would support us. So we believe that will be sufficient which is our weakest section

So from this can we assume that it is much easier to get the fiance visa as most people are successful, and if anybody has any tips or advice for us we would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks

Just one thing, was the visit visa that your fiancee had approved to visit you? I only ask because someone else on this forum was refused because she has previously applied for a visit visa (denied) to visit her aunt and when her subsequent fiancee visa was refused, one of the reasons given for refusal was that she failed to mention on her visit visa application that she had a bf in the UK.

Yes it was to visit me, any contact she has had with uk has been only for me and all this was put on the application for the visit visa

Well if she has already had a visit visa granted to visit you and if she returned to Phils before that visa expired, that should count in her favour with regard to her application for the fiancee visa. Especially with regard to the evidence of relationship required.
