Hi Guys,
My Wife and daughter arrived today on Settlement visa's.
They both have pinoy passports, now i know in 24 months the wife must apply for ILR, but what about my daughter?
Can she just apply for British Citizenship now? making her settlement visa no longer relevant. (She is aged 3)
Cheers

what vbkelly is saying, you should have applied for a British passport for her, from the brit embassy in manila, saved yourself the settlement fee for her :doh

Yeah i guess she can have best of both worlds now.
I thought it would be better for mum and daughter to apply for visa together, therefore giving a better chance for acceptance.

The answer is Yes. She's entitled to apply for British Citizenship and also don't forget to claim her Child Benefit.

and, something to remember for the future :D , your daughter is British by decent, so when she has her own kids, under present laws, they will not be British if they are born outside the uk !!!
