For you, what is the essence of Christmas? What is the real meaning of Christmas?
When I was a kid,I am so excited when Christmas is fast approaching, coz it means I can have loads of gift from my parents, aunties and uncles. Exchanging gifts and a family reunion. But as I'm getting older,I'm not excited anymore.Coz for me Christmas means spending money for gifts for my god daughters and godson,my nephews and nieces...:NoNo:

Christmas is more for children bec they get excited to open their gifts. For the older ones...it means more spending and giving non-sense gifts :) and hiding from their godchildren!

I love giving gifts and wrapping them personally as long as I got enough money to spend. :icon_lol:

as they said christmas is for children and we all have been children once. in my experience i grew up believing that santa exist not till my aunt told me that it was my parents.I was really in a great big dismay as I was excited every year for christmas waiting for santa to fill my socks with gifts and my mum and dad telling us to go to bed early as tomorrow when christmas arrives santa filled our socks with presents with some money and sweets but same as i said when I was 10 years old my aunt spoilt it.now I ask myself same as you lot here what really is the essence for christmas?most of you here got all same answers but we forgot to tell the young generations that christmas is for jesus.the day when he was born and we should celebrate it.it seems the spiritual part of us christians died and instead the material things ruled us but who can we blame for that.it is true we spend so much for christmas for our children, nephews, neices, brothers, sisters, all of our family and specially for our godchildren thats why most of our friends asking us to be the godparents to their children coz somehow they`re expecting gits and gifts for birthdays and christmas.I have loads of godchildren myself and i cant blame some godparents hides when christmas comes :Dbut somehow we all hope know whats really the essence of christmas?

CHRISTmas - remembering Christ when He was born here on earth :-)

I think that is the main reason why we celebrate Christmas, right?
