I passed my Filipino test on my first attempt, and didn't have any lessons at all - total cost was about 250 pesos (and the best part of a day sitting around LTO).
I guess that 36 years experience driving in UK/Europe, and 2 months experience driving in Phils may have helped.
However, congratulations to you LadyJ, especially if this is your first ever licence.

I heard there were new laws being passed to see if the person taking the test is the one on the form. I wonder if it will be some hairbrained scheme of the imprint of your ass on the carseat :) Show us your ass print.AHA it is not the same as it was before when the test was taken- it is very large. Right Mr Brown...so it was not your friend Tony that took the test for you?Hes a bit skinnier than you.I think your not as good as driving as him. But you are both good at U turns

I paid £21 per hour.
You can get a driving lesson from £18 per hour but it depends where you live. You dont want to get a cheap driving lesson because they said they might not a good instructor.
Good luck to learners!:Hellooo:

THank you guys!!
Kimmi, you never know, you might just have to pay less than £630 for driving lessons. The quicker you learn the less you pay!
My top tips are
Do:
Listen to your instructor
Read books about driving and highway code and watch some videos which you'll find them free on the internet.
Get plenty of practice with instructor and private.
Always check your mirrors
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND KEEP LOOKING AROUND!!!!!!:cwm3:
Don't:
Don't worry about how much you'll have to pay for lessons.
Don't leave a week gap without learning driving with qualified instructor.
and finally
Don't let your nervous gets you on the day of your test, I was nervous but I concentrated on my driving and the road then I realised that I forgot all about nervous. Just be yourself!
ONLY YOURSELF CAN TELL IF YOU'RE READY FOR YOUR TEST.
Goodluck to you kimmi and to everyone else.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I got my full UK driving license last year but since I got it I think I only drive here for 5 months bec my ex-bf encourage me to get a driving license here when Im living with him that I need to get a bus to work and im on a night shift. Now I realized I don't need a car as my work is just a 10 minutes walk from my new house and paying insurance and road tax is not worth it as I don't go out much as I prepare staying home and have a rest after a 5-6 days straight work sometimes.
Is it okay not using it for like a year? then when I decided to drive again in the future can I still use it?

you can use, or not use it, if you don't want to, until the expiry date that's on it :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Like mr Bloggs said its all good for about ten years from you getting it.
A very handy piece of ID.
In the UK untill ID cards turn up (if they ever do what with the cost) Passport and Uk driving license are the only two normal forms ofl id accepted that people hold.
If you never drive a car it has a use.
