Hi everyone.I just registered a couple of days ago.Im English and been here in Bacolod for 4 years.Does anyone else have a problem with the majority of "foreigners".Try to get eye contact is virtually impossible.Im not saying i havnt got friends but the "foreigner" is either shy or something to hide.
I retired this year, single and cant find the right one.
Theres more but only in confidence.Halong

There is nothing wrong with the foreigners, they are just borned and raised of being what they are, it's the essence of individuality that might make you ask that plus their environment they belong with. . Hopefuly you will find right one for you...:)

Confusing !

I live in Spain, where the Spanish are not foreigners.

In Phil, the Filipinos are not. I won't go but you get the point.

So who are the foreigners?

Everyone who is not one of 'us' ?

hi whisperer, i am from bacolod and from what i remembered we are like one of the friendliest people around:xxgrinning--00xx3:, we are just a bit shy i guess, also you will find that our culture is different in a lot of ways, just hang out in bobs or even the food court in the malls and i am sure you will find friends there. goodluck.

FIlipinos are very friendly and polite. But some feel intimidated by other nationalities, that is why eye contact is quite a problem. We have this attitude, we feel that we are the weaker race. That caucasians are strong race than ours. SOme are just shy. Or they just don't talk to strangers! But Filipinos are great, just befriend them. Be nice and polite too. They will love you soon. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Maybe these links will understand you more about them:

I still have not worked out who the foreigners are? I guess all of us are foreigners and locals:Erm: depending on where we are:D

based on my understanding i thought he refers the other nationality who came to visit PI like his self foreigners but filipinos as what jhoncar54 said are not forigners intheir own land. you yourself is a foriegner and yet we are not ignorant as well probably because some of them know that you talk to them in english and some people their english is not very good and they`re scared that talking to you would be embarassment and not all filipinos shy,me myself before I like talking to foreigners coz know that i could make a conversation and understand them.

Mrs Daddy. You got it correct.Have i confused many others?
"foreigners" are the people who visited the Philippines.Any complaints i have against the "locals" are of my own doing.I find it difficult to accept the different "culture".Punctuality and not answering certain questions although ive learnt to read the minds of individual who decline to answer.
God ive made MISTAKES but as i said mostly of my own doing.
I had a fantastic relationship for 18 months and have a beautiful filipina baby.Depression on both sides culminated in a breakdown of the relationship and eventually we split.I guess theres still love on both sides but extremely fragile and i cant TRUST her completely.
Gossip from EVIL people caused a lot of the problems.WHATS WRONG WITH THESE SADDOES?Stay out of other peoples relationship! Get a life !
Sorry guys but its better than bottling it up.
Halong and thankyou all.

On my visits to the Philippines I did try to give either eye contact or a smile. Only those who were with either their wife or partner or friend would give me some eye contact and may say hi or smile etc… :D

But those that seemed to be alone seemed to be more reserved and sneaky. I noticed that these people would not look in my direction and always avoid eye contact but they gave a lot of eye contact to the females that walked near them mainly below the neck. But hey. :doh

I was getting the idea that these guys were only here for the kind or things that wouldn’t be allowed in this country? But don’t get me wrong some may have just been arrogant or snobbish. But I know a few must have had dodgy intentions. :NoNo:

So if you are traveling to Philippines be friendly to your fellow travellers or they might think wrong of you. Hehehehe.. :cwm12:
