Hello everyone. Im filipina owl, been a member in this forum for a few months. I dont usually post threads as i only enjoy reading important information which is very helpful to everyone who is seeking advice regarding visas. Well, today i have decided to post this thread for the reason of seeking enlightenment from our friends in this forum and hoping to gain friends as well.

Well, i am a lucky fiancee of a british man from wales. I got engage last year, I can say that it was one of the happiest moment of my life. I have been heartbroken for a couple of times before i met my fiance and now,i thank God i finally found the right man for me. We've meet 4 times already and he is bound to philippines this december. He is the right person i want to spend my life with. We get along very well and i am happy with him. We are planning to get married next year. As of the moment,he has received his decree nisi and we are still waiting for his absolute decree to be released anytime next month, hopefully God willing.

Anyway, i got a nice stable job here in the philippines, well paid and i just got promoted in the company i am working with. Before my promotion, my fiance and i were discussing about our preparations in getting a fiancee visa and i was totally into it because i want to be with him because i truly love him. But after i got promoted, i am being hesitant to let go of my career. I love my job here and i am really reluctant at the moment whether i will quit my job or decide to go to UK with my fiance. Fortunately, my fiance is such a very supportive man. He supports whatever decision i want to make. He has been here many times and he likes it here. We actually plan to settle down in panglao bohol someday(its a beautiful place). My salary here, i would say is really good enough especially that i am now promoted.

My fiance's only concern is that, he has a nice job back in UK and it will be difficult for him to find a job here. And that's what i have been thinking. Whereas if i go to UK with my beloved fiance, i would surely be able to find a nice and better job since my profession is in demand in the UK. I would really love to be with my fiance and i can't wait for us to start our own family but what about my career here? Should i give it up? :Erm:

Can anyone give me some words of enlightenment please? I am undecisive at the moment but my fiance is just waiting for whatever decision im going to make. But we will have a thorough discussion in december. I would very much appreciate any advice. Thank you for reading my sentiments. God bless us all. :)

Hello filipina owl and welcome to the forum! :Hellooo:

Sometimes we need to make sacrifices or give up some things in order to be with our loved one. For your case, you have to weigh which is more important to you - your career or your fiance, and where would it best for the 2 of you to live soon after you're married. It's not easy to be in a long-distance relationship. One of you should be willing to live his/her hometown to be with the other. I suggest that you discuss this matter with your fiance so that he'll be aware of all your concerns.

Hope everything goes well with your fiancee visa application. :)

hi filipina owl,

It's tough, it really is, i agree w/ sis menchkin, sometimes or maybe most of the time, we have to sacrifice something (in some cases, you have to sacrifice everything) in order to be w/ our loved ones. As you have said, you've been heartbroken for a couple of times, and now you've found someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with but you're torn between giving up your career or come here and start a family w/ your loved one.

you're lucky sis. your fiance's very understanding and patient....since you mentioned that your profession is in demand in here, you have a very high chance of getting a very good job in here, if you decided to come here, it will mean you have to sacrifice your career in the phils. but you will be with your loved one and for sure you'll find a job, who knows it might be better than what you have in there.

i wish you both goodluck and all the best to whatever decisions you will make.

:)

very well said menchkin:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Its a really tough decision. We can only give advice and enlightenment but in the end its you who will make the final decision. As long as your happy and you think its the best for both of you then go girl:xxgrinning--00xx3: You will be brave enough to sacrifice everything for your fiance and for your future family.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I was once like you, but i never regret it to be with my husband now its the best thing that ever happened in my life.

You still have lots of time to decide. Weigh everything. Yes, they are all right, you have to make sacrifices in order to be with your fiance, soon to be your life partner & father of your kids etc...

Some of us here had nice jobs back home, but they all left them for the sake of love, better opportunities and moving forward. LOve - that alone is a perfect reason why we need to choose and why we need to sacrifice something.

Your fiance is right, it would be very difficult for him to find a profession in the Philippines because, not only he is more experienced/skilled but also the salary (£ vs PhP) Plus you have to think that PI is producing lots of new graduates each year, so employers are more happy to employ "new blood" for they are cheap to employ, or can be easily be "abused" for the sake of gaining job experiences.

You have the choice to choose...

God bless you always!
