After 10 weeks and 2 days of stressfull waiting I finally got hold of my (27 months) spouse visa !!!! :BouncyHappy: :BouncyHappy: :BouncyHappy:

I lodged my application last July 23. For the first call I made to the visa section of the embassy (made on the 9th week) the lady told me that the checking/verification of my docs was already finished and it will soon be forwarded to the assigned ECO. On the 2nd call (made on the 10th week) the person said that my application was already forwarded to the ECO latter part of 9th week. Then yesterday, I made my 3rd follow up call around 2pm and I can't believe what I heard. The lady who answered my call said that the result of my visa application has been issued already and on its way back to VFS. I just need to wait for a text message from the VFS if it's already available for pick up. True enough I got the text message from VFS around 630pm yesterday on my way home from work. At home I went online immediately to check if the status of my application in VFS website was already changed and it did!!!! :D :D :D That very moment I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness because I still didn't know if the result was good. I was struggling to sleep. I think I fell asleep around 1am and then at 430am I suddenly woke up. I wasn't able to go back to sleep so I just chatted with my husband who was also feeling nervous like me. hehehe! :Rasp: :Rasp: :Rasp: Then the long-awaited time came at 3pm. I was already inside the VFS Center in Phil-AXA bldg. When my name was called to claim my documents I was really very nervous and my hands were shaking while I was signing the claim form. Once I was outside the VFS Center I tore open the brown envelope and looked for my passport. I almost cried because of overwhelming joy when I saw my spouse visa on the 5th page. :REDancedancer08::REDancedancer08: :REDancedancer08::REDancedancer08: :REDancedancer08::REDancedancer08: It's really worth the wait and all the stress and agony I felt for the past 10 weks were suddenly wiped away. Then the next thing I did was to ring my loving husband to tell him the very good news and he was so happy and almost shouted for joy. hahaha! :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: God is really good and I can't thank Him enough for another answered prayer. This is definitely a wonderful advance birthday gift for me and I will now be able to celebrate that special day of mine with my husband in Scotland. Yahoo!!!!! :Jump: :Jump: :Jump:

I am also very happy that all the original documents I submitted were returned to me especially the cards. :xxgrinning--00xx3: :xxgrinning--00xx3: :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Thanks to this forum that helped me with the preparation of my visa application and thanks to all the friends I gained since I joined here. For all those who are still waiting for the result of their visa application, keep the faith and don't lose patience. Your turn to hear the good news will come soon.... :) :) :)

I am just giving an update as to what date of applications are now being processed by the embassy as of today (which is aug 15 applications). the result of your visa application is almost done since you lodged yours aug 8 right? :) so in the next couple of weeks expect your visa okie.... You can start calling the visa section once you enter your 9th week (same thing i did) :D

you will get use to the cold in no time, i think i really only felt it my first winter here then you will soon learn to put layers on and be warm. trick is put lots of thin layers and a thick coat, i am a bit excited to hear of your firsts when you get here.

Thanks sis for reminding me to bring loads of conditioner. I can't live without putting conditioner on my hair coz it gets dry easily....

First of all I would like to congratulate you! I know you are still in the middle to excitement for you will have a new life together forever with your hubby. My name is Luna I'm from Cebu. My fiancee is also from Scotland . And he told me about this site and he's really encouraging me to join here so i can directly ask my questions to the people who have a great idea of processing a SPOUSAL VISA possible. Though we have all the stuff that we need to submit to the embassy and everything yet I have still confussions and worries at the back of my mind.
When i read your message it really inspires me so much... I am a person who just simply follow instuctions well but it would be better if i also got some of your ideas on how you got it. I can feel how happy and excited you are now. It is okay if i ask questions soon.....Right now, we are preparing for our wedding this coming 7th of Feb 2009. And he will he here again this 06th of January so we can arrange things well like church and city seminars.
I will hope to hear from you ...

need your help! always take care...CONGRATS!

Luna:)

Did you find a good shipping company Mench? My wife is running behind you a few days( Unfortunately we have lost a lot of time, as a good friend of hers was killed in an RTA on Saturday :bigcry: ) Only thing so far she has found is with the "Post Office" Shipping 30 Kilos Express service 27000, or the "it will arrive when it gets there" service for 13000. Shes traveling to Calamba tomorrow/Today to try to find an alternative?

Hope you stay on schedule. are you flying with KLM. We have been looking at Flights for Thursday/Fri or Sat(16th, 17th, 18th) Eithad are looking pretty reasonable. On that note does anyone know if a "transit visa" would be required for transiting though Abu Dabi?

I did not push thru with my KLM booking because it's way too expensive. :NoNo: I will be flying via British Airways on Oct 17. British Airways got me a flight from Manila to HK via Cathay Pacific. Total cost of my ticket is USD 464. :)

As for the shipping company I managed to find a few and it's only now that we chosen the one that will ship my things. The quote we got was around Php 14k from Manila to Felixtowe Suffock. My husband and I will just go to England to pick the package once they arrive there (one month waiting time).
I can send you the freight companies I found so you can make inquiries as well. Send me a PM or add me in YM.

Yeah, I'm really happy and excited to see and be with my husband for good after almost 4 yrs of being in a long distance setup. It's really a great advance birthday gift for me. I'll be going to Aberdeen Scotland. Where in Scotland is your husband?

Feel free to ask me questions about the spouse visa application. You can add me in YM so we can chat some time. I will share with you what I did with my application (like the supporting docs I submitted). Just relax and make sure that you gather everything so that your application will have a very favourable result. :)

hello girl :) how was your flight? how do u find the country so far? the weather do u like it?

I had quite a tiring flight but thank God I got here safely. I feel lazy to go out coz of the very cold weather so I just stay here in the house most of the time. Haven't seen much of the places because for the past 2 days all I did was sleep. Finally I'm over my jetlag. :)
