Happy to let you guys know that I got mine yesterday, 3months after I;ve submitted my application. I phoned them 2wks ago to ask for the status however they only give info when application is over 6months. Since we are planning to go on holiday this Dec I've requested them to return our passports. She said my application might take longer if I pullout our passports. I said that is fine. Then she said it'll take 2wks to return it. Then yesterday I got a post with our passports and a letter approving my citizenship. We reckon that if I didnt request for our passports to be returned they wouldnt process my application that quick. :BouncyHappy:

Great!

I suppose you now have to do the citizenship ceremony to complete and then another application to apply for passport. Nearly there! :)

Best Wishes

Not quite - you need to have a passport interview (to confirm your identity) before they will send you your passport.

All first time applicants for British Passports have to have an interview now.

(It's not really an interview, they just ask you about a dozen questions which you should know the answer to as it's basically about you).

Are you sure? My wife applied for her passport in August this year and had to attend a passport interview. As far as I am aware since I think late last year all adults applying for a passport for the first time have to attend a passport interview.

You're right, all first time passport applicants must attended a interview
to prove you are that person. :Erm:

Congratulations, 3 months quick compared to my wife's, it took over 12 months.

That's a long time. When my wife applied earlier this year (February) it took only 8 weeks.

Thank you guys!

They will post me in 2wks the oath taking ceremony letter. Then I can apply for passport.

It says in the application form "Every adult applying for their first passport is likely to need to have an identity interview" so let's just see if they will ask me for an interview.
