hi all ,i,m in the process of preparing my wifes spouse visa aplication and a couple of times she has asked "why dont you try to process my papers in your country, it would be easier"
i have told her "the reason that i have never heard of processing visa papers in my country is that it cant be done with a spouse visa"
after having said that i did promise to find out if that is the caes.
can anyone confirm this or otherwise ?

I'm certain you are 100% correct. In all the time I have been a member and reading these boards I've never heard of anyone applying for a fiancee or spouse visa in the UK and the UK Border Agency website states...
If you are applying to join family members in the UK, you should make your application in the country of which you are a national or where you legally live.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your wife will also have to submit the application in person so she can have her fingerprints taken and the biometric scan.

:xxgrinning--00xx3: correct
and on the visa app form VAF4 it states
SETTLEMENT FORM (VAF4 OCT 2007)
This form is for use outside the UK only.
This form is provided free of charge.
nothing wrong with you helping her, by filling the parts that apply to you, and scanning the form , then emailing your wife it or posting it to her, so she can copy what you've written and fill in the parts that she needs to, b4 signing it and sending it :xxgrinning--00xx3:

The brit is the sponsor and the Phill would be the applicant.
The Applicant has to apply. Nothing to worry about most on here have done it or are in the process.
Ask her to join up if she has not already the Ladies on the site will be able to help, advise and support her:xxgrinning--00xx3:

tthough the thought of an interview scares her !
fill your visa app in correctly and supply the evidence your asked for, there is a very good chance she will not be called for an interview, hardly any are called for interviews now :xxgrinning--00xx3:

yes i think its only natural to be scared of being asked awkward questions by a stranger.but preperation is the key to anything and the truth only needs to be said i tell my wife.
and its a nice thought that ,as joe says the interview is usualy bypassed anyway.

Yes and the harder she works with you to prepare the Application hopefully the less likely you might face an Interview.
Even if you do require an Interview. Ladies on here have had Interviews and with out sounding rude to them are just everyday Pinays and they can tell your mahal all about it from the UK.
