Hmmn! You can cope, as many do but i must be honest with you. Riyadh is about as strict as they come in Saudi. My experience tells me that in general Saudis do not respect anyone as much as they do their own. Unfortunately, of the rest that follow Filipinos are among the worst treated.
Some of the things I heard said about filipina women in Saudi was highly offensive and I had to advise them that I was about to marry one. The comment then was 'well, if that's your choice'. The implication was that 'sure, go ahead and sleep with one but why marry her?'.
I dont want to say too much as i dont want to scare you but i'm sure your husband will tell you all you need to know and how to be safe out there.
I have a clipping from a newspaper article to do with filipina maids, I read out there. I had to bring it to show people as it is unbelievable.
Good luck amiga and i'm sure you will be ok if you take heed of the advice given to you out there. Oh and by the way, it can get super hot out there.
I have some good friends, both Pinoy and Saudi if you need them.

i use to work with 2 Libyan brothers, and they told me Filipinos were maids or given the worse jobs to do, and treated like :censored:, now you must think why your husband is being paid so much to go there :Erm:, i suppose you have to balance what you get paid with the quality, freedom( especially for women) and the life style you have compared with here and there :Erm:
but good luck, and i don't suppose you will know til you get there

Hello Angel1231
Every place theres good and bad, but for me do not worry that much Im sure you will be alright, if thats your Hubby`s job calling so be it and just look forward for the bright side.
Its better to migrate to a quite strict place, but as you said your hubby will earn more than to stay in a country where theres more freedom, but your husband will earn less.
Goodluck to you and to your husband.

I have a friend who married to a filipino engineer based in Saudi. She preferred to live with her hubby there as she's wanting to have a baby. She said she can't go out without wearing her abaya and she always stuck at home. She wants to work but you are not allowed as it will be dangerous. She suffered some boredom but finally she got what she wanted. Now, she made the right decision to comeback to Pinas and raise her baby in her 3 floor beautiful house in Sta. Rosa.
Goodluck!

no way i could live in a Arab or muslim country to dom, just talking to the 2 Libyans i use to work with, made me realise how much freedom we have here, and how much they are conditioned by their brainwashing gov/culture/society, even with a English mother :NoNo: they would **** this country off, but when i use to say to them, why dont you go back, they never had a good answer and they always came back to the uk :D
long live :Britain: and god save the £ :ARsurrender: 68.6php to £ :cwm3:

Good luck my dear out there..never be far away from your husband's side. They have NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER of Filipino women (hell they dont respect their own women) I lived in a flat in Shekou and we had 4 girls living in one part of it (it was a big one) they had all worked in Dubai..and.....sorry to say..they had all been molested by their bosses or the sons of their bosses. This is the truth, they had no reason to lie to me when they told me. So my Dear...keep close to him at all times. Even though he is working there..they still will not respect you, or even him if it comes to the crunch...By the way, have you noticed how many Muslim men are on the chat sites looking for asian girls? they cannot do that with their own women.. and if someone replies..they will not give up trying to chat or get photo's of you....You take care and good luck out there....
