I simply don't understand the reasoning behind the Honours Lists of the last few years.:doh
It used to be that people that really done something worthwhile, in their lives, were nominated for the List. And I mean a life or most of it spent helping other people or achieving very high goals, wether in commerce, business, sports, literature, entertainment, charity work or whatever.
Nowadays, any Tom, Dick or Harry that happens to win a Cribbage, dart game, a race or a peeing contest gets nominated, even if they are barely 18 years old.:NoNo:
I personally think that something like that cheapens and lowers the system, and this Gov, famous for selling honours for cash is giving them away like confetti.:NoNo:
Here we go, see what you think, I don't dispute the marvellous achievements from the younger generation, but isn't that a bit too early to dispense MBE's,CBE's, OBE's...
After all, they could just be a flash in the pan.....:doh
