Hi Scot,
One movie that has always stuck in my mind is The Nightcomers with Marlon Brando circa 1972/73, it wasn't a huge success at the time but you should check it out, I loved it.

if you enjoy anime then you would love the studio gibli film...spirited away and howl's moving Castle are my favorites but the rest is good..."where the heart is" starring natalie portman is a touching love story...but best? too many to mention...
