"The Supreme Court announced that it had awarded to the government more than $650 million in Swiss bank deposits of the late president Ferdinand Marcos. The court said the dictator's heirs had failed to justify ownership of the money. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's spokesman said the money would go to the government's poverty-alleviation program. Some will compensate close to 10,000 victims of human rights violations under Marcos. Carlos H. Conde "
