Hi, are there any Filipino community in Cambridge? Or Filipinos living there that are member of this forum? I was one of those people that made redundant end of December but got a new job in Cambridge, I started 26th Jan. I don't know anything about Cambridge. I am staying in a 4 bedroom shared house while my wife stays and work in Nottingham. I drive to Nottingham every friday after work. So if anybody that can give me information would be great. I might also consider moving my entire family when everything is stable.

A loads of Filipino in Cambridge but I dont know how many members of this forum who lives there. There's also lots of Filipino events every year ie filipino-brit xmas party, filipino holiday caravan within UK then when someones bday everyone is invited (like barrio fiesta) afterwards its a drinking session for mens:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I live 40 mins drive away from Cambridge. Its a lovely and busy town, you'll find most of the shops there. Cambridge is very popular because of its University and Addenbrookes hospital.

Where about in Cambridge are you?

Good to hear that a lot of Filipinos are in and around Cambridge. I might swap or sell my house in Notts and buy another one in or around Cambridge, or rent for awhile, whichever is cheaper. Right now I am staying at Elizabeth Way in CB4 postcode.

here is the info I want to know for now, which place is much cheaper to live in Cambridge but nice? I work at Science Park, so a few miles of travel won't hurt as the work hours are 9 to 5:30. Where is the best Asian store located?

After that meal Dom, I no longer feel the need!!
The starter alone cost me 25 quid and it was cheap at half the price!!

Try outskirt of Cambridge or a small town next to it..there's plenty:xxgrinning--00xx3: Google it and see what are the towns near Cambridge. I used to live in St.Ives which only takes us 20 mins to drive and its cheaper place to live than Cambridge.

FOr me the best and cheapest towns to live are

(my top 3 first)
1.Barhill -Handful of Filipino
2.St.Ives -Few Filipino
3.Huntingdon -Many Filipino
Willingham or Longstanton
Haverhill/Suffolk - LOADS OF FILIPINO (Mostly works in Addenbrookes Hospital):D

The popular asian store in Cambridge is called CHOMEE and its located in Mill Road. Its a chinese shop but you'll find most of the Phils products there ie;longganisa, papaitan, bangus, tilapia, bagoong, noodles and lots more. They've got most of the Phils products than any other asian shops in Cambridge:xxgrinning--00xx3:

LadyJ thanks for all the additional informations. I will sure look into them. I was late in asking this forum if there are some Pinoys who are renting a room in their house. I just paid one yesterday located at Elizabeth way. £250pcm in a small room inc bills. Maybe after about 2 months I will ask this forum.
