Hi, I am a newcomer to this forum and I am starting with a question pertaining to the processing of express postal items from Europe to the Philippines. I intend to send something to my GF in Davao City for Valentine's day but while screening the Internet I read scary tales about any parcel sent Chronopost or EMS to the Philippines being retained at the post office, after which the addressee receives a note, then has to proceed to said post office where the parcel is opened and the contents, of whichever nature, subjected to a tax according to the postal/custom's clerk mood. Is there anything true about that? I understand Chronopost can ship in 5 or 6 days but I do not want a Valentine to become a burden and even a financial problem for my Filipina girlfriend..... thanks for your input!
