Dear All,

Myself and Hannah are interested in possibly pursuing a Student Visa for her sister currently in the Philippines.

In order for this to happen I would have to be the sponsor.

However, I am unsure of her sisters chances I've provided some info I was wondering if anyone can provide me with realistic chances of obtaining the Visa or whether its a non starter. Personally I am unsure.

Thanks

- Sister doesnt have any substantial savings/Job
- Is married and has two children
- Has some qualifications
- I can provide evidence of my financial support/housing capabilities etc.
- Hannah is currently on FLR (Application for ILR is in January 2010).

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Stuart

When is she intending to apply? As after the end of March 2009 the rules change and it seems like it will be a lot harder to get a student visa than it is now.

We havent set anything in stone as yet but if we were to apply it would be as soon as possible, although whether that would be before the end of March is difficult to say.

You may want to look around to see what the rules are likely to be after March. I've seen a requirement for a lot more money - maybe £8K or more for a 1 year course. Also more checks to confirm that the course is suitable for the applicant (rather than just an excuse to come to the UK to work...).
