Hi everyone :) We would like to send our congratulations to everyone who got their visas granted recently.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

We submitted our fiancée application last Dec. 22, 2008 and just yesterday (Feb. 18, 2009) about 3:30pm, we received a txt from vfs saying, “processed passport returned through courier”. Then today (Feb.19, 2009) around 1:30 pm the courier service came, and we opened the package and we got the visa:BouncyHappy:

We think we wouldn’t have had this success if it weren’t for this forum, so thanks to all the help from everyone:xxgrinning--00xx3:

We agreed as well to post the list of documents we’ve submitted to help others who’s under the process of their application:)

Our weak area was our financial section. On the first bank statement we had an overdraft of -£1800 but had moved this to a final balance of £1100. It worked out as an average about £420 excess money per month over the period of the bank statements. With this we were open about the reasons behind the overdraft and told the honest truth.

This is for anyone who has applied or is about to apply for a visa, an overdraft does not mean a failure and as long as you are honest and are showing positive signs then it is possible to be granted.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

So here’s our list of documents:

Attached are the Original Supporting Documents Based on the Guidance Checklist for Settlement-Fiancée Visa Application:

1. Copy of sponsor’s passport including personal details page and stamped pages

2. Evidence of adequate accommodation:
a. Summary of proof of adequate accommodation
b. Parents’ mortgage statement

a. Summary of financial capacity

c. Pay slips from the last 7 months of sponsor
d. Bank statements from the last 7 months of sponsor
e. My bank certificate

4. Evidence of residency of sponsor (not applicable); sponsor is a British national.

5. Letter of support from sponsor

6. Evidence that we remained in contact:
a. Summary of how we remained in contact
b. Copies of emails
b.1. Sponsor to me
b.2. Me to sponsor
c. Copies of email inboxes
c.1. Sponsor to me

Yup but I'm sick of phoning them and will tell me that there's no new updates. I received my telephone bill and it cost too much then it's not worthy.

I emailed them and again they ignored it.

How I wish they will tell me straight away that I'm refused rather than to keep me waiting for ages.Been waiting for 13 weeks :doh:doh:doh

I can't believe they let you wait this long.. Just be more patient about it:) i know it's a lot harder than it sounds, but you'll get the positive result soon:) hang in there:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Congratulations!!! Have a question though, do you really have to show your (fiancee) bank statement? Or the sponsor's bank statement would suffice? Thanks.

You don't have to show it (my fiancee didn't). If you've got a reasonable amount of money in there it would be worth showing especially if your sponsor hasn't got a large amount of money, otherwise it's probably not worth the effort.

thank you:) your (fiancee's) bank statement is not required.. a lot of ppl from the forum didn't included theirs, but since i have some savings, i thought it would help:xxgrinning--00xx3: i'm not sure though if it actually played a role in our aplication:) best of luck with your application:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi,

well done.
Can I ask you if the letter from your fiance / sponsor was hand written or typed?
(Im thinking of hand writing)

AJS
27th February 2009, 00:06
Hi :)

ours was typed, it was two pages long, we had to play with the margins and stuff but we squashed it down to two pages :CompBuster:. We typed it coz it seems to be the done thing and it looks way more professional. Plus even though im sure ur handwriting is good sometimes people find it hard to read handwritten documents and it would be such a shame if that happened :NoNo:. Just think of the presentation of your application, The ECO will be much happier if they recieve a nicely put together application :).

Good luck, let us know if you need any more advice :).

Hi , what i did with mine was i printed the chat summary not the the actual chat transcripts. I also did the print screen. The ECO are not after of the actual transcripts of what u were chatting, they are after of the evidence of contact which is the constant communication.
