Has she had her fiancee visa granted yet?

As someone else on this forum has been told the same thing, and the reason might be because they have not had their fiancee granted yet.

(You normally should attend the CFO after your visa is granted)

But as Aromulus has said it nothing to worry about as they will let her leave the country (obviously so long as she has her visa and her cfo stamp).

Darren is right. When they attend the seminar, if the girl has married in the Philippines, then they will know that her husband had to produce a valid CNI before they would have been allowed to get married in the Philippines.

Likewise, if the girl is a fiancee who has already been granted a fiancee visa, then they will assume that the British Embassy who granted the visa are satisfied that her fiance is single and is free to marry.

This problem only seems to crop up when a fiancee attends the seminar before a she has been granted a fiancee visa.

Iain.

Not so sure really.:Erm:

Jet did attend the seminar even before she delivered the documentation to Manila for visa processing.
I remember clearly that they messed all the paperwork up, and I had to show Jet, while chatting, how to put it back in order.

Then all she had to do was to collect the sticker on receipt of the Visa,... and Robert is your uncle....:D

So they didn't actually issue the CFO sticker until after the visa was granted? If so you would expect the people at the CFO just to say come back after you get your visa now rather than ask for proof of no impediment.

From the postings I've read on here, this problem also seems to be peculiar only to Cebu. How about it girls, has any of you who attended the seminar in Manila had this problem?

When I applied for my fiance visa in 2006. I had a copy of my fiance's ( now husband:Erm:) CNI, where he gets in the local registrar in the uk and sent it to me and i had it changed in the British Embassy Manila. I attended my cfo seminar in Cebu before i submitted my Fiance application but they never asked about CNI in those time. I included the CNI in the fiance application.

They are really making things difficult now or it could be an error for the counsellor. You just have to explain everything let your persuasive powers work:)

Goodluck :)

Ann

This is all wrong! The CNI, issued by a UK registrar is for use in the situation where the wedding will take place outside of British soil. The UK fiance visa is issued for the express purpose of marrying, and settling, in the UK. You can't do both - you either marry in the UK, or you don't!
