i don't know where to post this one so i am sorry if i posted it here..
anyone with BIG heart who could enlightened me about this..
i really want to pursue an education here in the UK as a teacher or teaching assistant...i am a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science graduate in the Philippines and had teaching experiences already...what course should i take so in the future i could get a job related in teaching or teaching assistant?

You can visit your local college and ask about your course and tell them about your teaching course. They will tell you if PoliScie course will help to become a teaching assistant and what course do you still need to take.

It's ashamed, Teaching profession in our country is hard to find a job as teacher here. You can be a nanny or Child minder but still you need to take course for children to qualify:doh

Hi! Has your qualifications been assessed by UK NARIC yet? If not, then that's the first thing you should do. I also want to apply as a teaching assistant and eventually be a qualified teacher here in England but my qualification/s is only comparable to NHD/ Foundation Degree Standard/ NSVQ level 4. My course in Phils BSE major in ENglish and I'm also a PRC licensed teacher. I don't really have much classroom teaching experience as I used to teach Online to chinese, taiwanese, japanese and koreans, so what I'm going to do is to volunteer in a school near our place to gain experience working with children. I have been advised that I should take GCSE courses in MATHS, ENGLISH and SCIENCE be able to have a grade of C before I can take any courses in teaching here. It's a lot of work and involves a lot of money before you can reach that QTS ( Qualified Teacher Status) and now I'm having second thoughts becoz I don't think my husband can afford to send me to UNI or COLLEGE here.

It's really a shame to know that teachers in the Phils can just be a nanny or a caregiver in nursing homes or to some cleaners. For those that are not so choosy they accept those jobs for as long as they're earning. And for those that really want to land a job in teaching they have to earn a degree from a College or University here.

at the moment that's what I am trying to do, got a wee jobs in here, gain experience, learn more with their language/culture and studying at Open University..well just a stepping stone for what career/path I really wanted..:D
