I got this reply from the UK VAC this morning
Dear Sir/Ma’am,
Greetings from UK VAC!
We will be able to accept an additional payment from Standard Chartered for the remaining balance until 21 May 2009. The new visa application fee is PHP 43,875.
Truly yours,
UK VAC
Our appointment is for 22nd May and should we change it to 21st now? How do I do payment from Standard Chartered?
Thanks for all the help we have received here.

:yikes: awww, Well your appointment is on 22nd,if you want to pay on 20th ,thats better,if you pay on 21st,make sure until 12 midday,so you wont get in trouble again, because if you pay late than 1pm,its counted on 22nd,meaning ,they havent accept your payment on the time of your appointment, you will be in trouble again on your appointment,so pay it early, the best thing you can do...Good luck dear:Hellooo:

Hi Jonnywina,
So you're from Davao eh? Asa sa Davao? hehehe...
When you apply are you going to Cebu or Manila to submit docs? If in Manila, I would assume that you will arrive at least a day before you submit your docs right.. and if that's the case, you can go to Standard Chartered office in Makati along Ayala Avenue.. or in Ortigas along Emerald Avenue as soon as you arrive in Manila. I don't know where in Cebu though.
Good luck! Apply na sad ko by June.. hehehe

we are applying in Manila. Their website states they except payment from 4 banks. Our original payment was made at BPI. I think we will make the additional payment of 2,000 pesos there. It will cost an extra 20k PHP to alter plans and I will take a chance.
Little things like this are so annoying :)

what happens if the rate on the markets went to 78 peso in 1 week? would they wait till June or make a change at the time? Just curious.
My wife will pay the additional fee on Friday and should be plenty of time. Has anyone stayed at intercontinental hotel in Makati?

whenever the date you have your appointment for?,the vise fee is set like everyweek or month?
so you can phone them up or see online what the rate will be for your appointent time,it doesnt change every day?
but its best that you make the payment at the bank before like 3 days? and take a few extra pesos just in case :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi Jonnywina, as what I'm saying to a previous thread a friend of mine MICH encounter same problem like yours. She's aware of her payment has discrepancy through BDO CASH payment, so on the day of her appointment she was adviced by VFS staff to pay the diffrence at Standard Chartered (I guess that was Florge mentioned the branch located along Ayala Avenue), she able to pay it in the afternoon and same day she submitted her application.
If you could change your flight earlier, why not try a walk in:rolleyes:, just in case there will be a problem you have a back up appointment :xxgrinning--00xx3:(like what I did):D, I saw Hotel few step away at VFS if I'm not mistaken it's Tiara Oriental, just google it:)
and about the Standard Chartered in your local branch try first to phone them if they do accept visa fee discrepancy, it's less hassle if you pay the remaining fee before your flight going Manila, but to my experience there are some conservative banks not aware about the visa fee matter especially if it's located in province local area :NoNo::doh, if you don't gave them the info's they won't process it and whether wrong or not, we're suffering the risk:doh
Goodluck!

my problem is the hotel & flight is booked and paid for. To change this I would take a 20k hit for flights and hotel. I don't want to do this :)
I was considering making a new payment for the entire amount and then get a refund for the first receipt. Is it possible? We paid the receipt 1 month ago and that was stupid thing to do thinking now.
Can I not just pay the 2000 pesos difference at BDO in Davao .. is there any problems if I do and what should I ask for?
Is it possible to pay the difference in cash at the application center? Has anyone done this?
Sorry for so many questions but first time doing this and I want as little problems as possible.

Ok sis no need to change flight then:doh
from what I understand here will be your itinerary:D
May 21 arrived at Manila
May 22 your appontment at VFS
am i right?
My advice here:
The first day you arrived you can pay the 2000 discrepancy visa fee at STANDARD CHARTERED located at Ayala Avenue if you won't able to pay it on your local SC branch.
but please try first to coordinate the Local SC branch you have maybe they accept payment:)
The VFS replied you an email already telling you that you can pay to that bank so follow it as what MICH does:) otherwise try to email again VFS if you can't meet the deadline:NoNo:ask what possible banks can accept, if they don't reply quickly then be ready for the new visa fee amount i suggest try manager's check this time.:)
I hope you sort it out soon:), i know how you feel seeing those loads of docs still in your hand :cwm34:
