This is cultural and let's just leave it that way. I am a Christian Catholic, I have my own beliefs but I have never tried to convince people (pagans, hindus, buddhists, atheists) to believe in the things that I believe in.
I don't care if some people don't believe in HIM. I just hope they won't make fun of HIM.

I still like the old idea that he does exist, is living in Basingstoke and woorking on a less ambitious project.

Good for you.
Not like the christians who knock on my door with bibles in their hands.
HIM? If he did exist (I think not) why masculine?
PC never existed 2000 years ago or more, when women were subjugated.

Yes, HIM. As I have said earlier, this is cultural. This is just how we were raised and made to believe.

I for one live by what i believe and although maybe when i first became a member here i came across strongly so although i have learnt to chill out there are those on here who not only choice to believe different (which they are 100% entitled to do) but do little more than mock us Christians and belittle the God we believe in so what to you expect us to do just sit back and say nothing?

As I mentioned before, I believe you can believe in whatever god(s) you want. We atheists have no problem with that.
I bet you have never had atheists knocking on your door "informing" you to join them, or even constant leaflets dropping on your carpet....
so what to you expect us to do just sit back and say nothing?
You have got that right..............

It's ok, let's chill out and not oppose. We know what we believe in so let's just keep our peace.

Och aye, but ... dinnae believe a' that nonsense! :NoNo: We Scots maun hae tae wear *knickers ... :action-smiley-081: [there noo, ah've SAID the *word fur thon garments ma late first wife used tae ca' "unmentionables"!:icon_lol:] lest oor assets wur in mortal danger o' creatin' liabilities!
Or, for the benefit of our southern neighbours who have the misfortune not to be domiciled in that remote northern "wilderness" bordered by Berwick-Upon-Tweed in the east, and Carlisle in the west, allow me to translate:
Oh yes, but ... do not believe all that heresay! We, who reside in that largely neglected [by the English] distant backwater, being thus inclined towards donning a heavy tartan "skirt" - known locally as 'the kilt' - are, for modesty's sake, required to wear underpants in order to safeguard against the dire risk of unwanted pregnancies or ... worse, ... spawning a:football3: 'eleven' worthy of chasing off our nearest opponents.

I have no issue with personal belief at all. I do have an issue with organised religion:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article6334837.ece
What do you expect non-believers to do when we are derided and cast as 'evil' for our failure to believe? :NoNo: Sit back and say nothing?
What happened to live and let live? This is why non-believers mock organised religion. Because it is frequently illogical and yet judgemental, and it infringes on our life at every turn. And the stronger it gets the more dictatorial and sancitmonious it gets. Look at the US - it's bonkers.:Rasp:

I feel for you, i remember someone said the same sentiment but one of the respected member here told her to shut up:NoNo: I hope he doesn't say that to her wife when his wife told her I believe in GOD.
If I die now and God doesn't exist nothing to loose...but if I die now and God does exist its my gain not my lost. But I'd rather bet to God and not with stupid horse.
