Hi everyone,
I have had this Filipino link on my lap top since last year, but never found the time to look into all the information and friendly posts in the site.
Anyway, I decided to register today so here I am.
I should say WE,
As my wife and I just got married in New Zealand a few weeks ago.
My Wife lives in Manila and I live in england and we need to find out all the ins and outs of getting back and fore drom England.
Although she has already been to the UK 4 times before, it's always a hassle going through Immigration.
I'm sure it must be easier for Illegal emigrants !!
My name is John and my wife is Emilie.
One thing I would like advice on is:
Where can we find a nice place to live in the Philippines which is not so hot and not so crowded and polluted as Manila?
Any help will be much appreciated
Regards.
John.

Hi Kiwi,
Welcome to the forum. With regard to somewhere to live in Philippines, not too hot and not too crowded, why not try some of the areas of Bukidnon that are not too far from Cagayan De Oro, because it's up in the hills so it's noticeably cooler than down in the city and the land prices are much cheaper than some of the more popular areas further north. Unfortunately it's a bit of a hike if your looking for a decent beach though.
Iain.

As I said, so many lovely people here,
Thank you al for your suggestions and advice on the best places.
I have heard a lot about Camiguin being a small island, I might even get over there before we return to England for a few months of the summer.
Of course, I want the best of both worlds which is impossible.
I tell Emilie that we want a cool mountain with a nice beach ha ha.
It would be nice to be near a beach so I can get a sailing boat as I need a passtime, also would like a small piece of land so that I can grow veggies and fruit would be good.
Now I can spend time looking through all your suggestions and dream a little before we decide.
Although at our time of life, buying a property might not be a good idea, so renting long term would make more sense.
Thanks again for all your help.
John

Of course I am new to this Forum.
I relied with a big thank you post to all the lovely people who were kind enough to Welcome me to the forum.
However, although I posted in what I thought was the correct slot, It does not seem to be in this thread.
I will try and find it somewhere else.

Ah well, it seems that it was Pilot error as I must have pressed the wrong button or something.
Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone for giving me lots of places to look at which are cooler and not so crowded as Manila, so now I can spend some time looking at all the suggestions.
My ideal place would be a beach next to a mountain, so that we can get the best of both world's.
At our late stage in life, it's a bit late to spend all the money on buying, so renting long term would be a better idea.
Thanks again everyone for your suggestions.
Regards.

kiwi, i suggest you look at davao city as potential place, less pollution compared to other cities in the phils. (typhoon free area, good agricultural land to raise veggies, fruits , nice beaches, low crime rate, international flights available..) :xxgrinning--00xx3::icon_win::icon_win:

Hi! Welcome to the forum... I missed toril :cwm24: yes, Davao is nice safe and clean but anyway we have lots of places here,Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao... :) we visit camiguin and it is really nice to stay beaches, mountains and near to go for hot springs…cagayan de oro is good but you find usually good home to stay top to the mountains where its an over looking to the city but still near to the ocean …well, it is better you look on it by visiting any places then you can decide both where your ideal place is, which is safe and comfortable to stay … good luck and enjoy staying soon from Philippines :xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3:
