I hope someone can help.

'I know a guy who lives outside UK who has a problem' It can't be me honest !!!!!!!

The Sky card which is marked DNS which has been providing free BBC / ITV and several other progs has stopped working. All there is now is the prog in a green colour.

'He' wants to get a new card.

Problem. The existing card is registered to an address in UK which was his mothers but she died recently. The house is now derelict.

Any ideas how the card can be renewed?

Will a new card continue to work with an analog digi box?

Thanks Guys

hi john

have you taken the card out of the reader and gave it a quick clean? sometimes that does the trick, sky cards are paired to the reciever in most cases, maybe they have issued new cards now to there customers and it may be the case that all old cards have been deactivated?

you could try buying a second hand box from ebay and maybe they have left there card in the slot, and still pick up the free channels, other than that cant you subsribe to the basic package recieve a new card from sky then cancel the package oopppssss maybe not :doh

best of luck

Thanks for te advice.

It turned out that all that was needed was to unplug the decoder leave for a few seconds then plug in again, and all was re-set and now working fine.

But. 'My Friend' now wants to know if the crad he has, which is a Sky card marked DNS, will need to be replaced with a new card?

Any ideas please. (my friend cannot call Sky as it wil show he is not in UK)

You can watch Sky online through a proxy like 'Hide the IP'

Best if you subscibe to the premium service, as you get high speed Elite proxies, I use it all the time in the US, although if it works on the basic version, fine.
