baguiocity don't worry you are not the only one who is waiting for ages. i lodged my application last jan 20 and no result yet.i am really frustrated.... i also called the vfs last tuesday and they told me the same information they told you. the embassy is processing applicants from precision training but, they don't have any idea which school will be next to be processed.

Email was sent to me last August 24 from VFS helpline said in verbatim: Please be informed that the visa section of British Embassy Manila is currently dealing with all student/nvq applications and is targeting to release the pending applications within this month.

Let's give it some time, if it's impossible for them to release all our visa, let's give it till first or second week of september. Then kung wala, mangulit ulit tayo. Let's keep calling them and email them as well.

Haven't heared from kim_lee19, has she left already?

Got my docs last wednesday, I was denied because of Embassy thought my papers from City of London Business College was fraudulent. They are claiming that the school does not have any connection with University of Sunderland and yet the school is using their logo as a partner.

Truth is, City LBC is connected to the University only in pre-master courses and degrees but not in NVQ. But still there is an agreement. What we are doing right now is asking the University of Sunderland to send proof of agreement and partnership to the embassy and to my agency so we could file for an appeal.

I filed in January 30, my friend who filed on the same date has not received her documents yet. I hope this does not happen to others enrolled in the same school. Their miscommunication has really put me in deep depression. 8 months and all for nothing.

Thank you for feeling for me...I'm a bit relieved. :)

My agency is G&E Baguio. They are asking all papers to prove the agreement between City LBC and Univ of Sunderland. We're just waiting for the correspondence to arrive this week. Another friend of who lodged on feb 20 was denied as well for the same reason. My friend who lodged at the same date as mine has not received her documents yet.

I actually don't know if I should appeal or not..I heard some appeals take about a year or more, some take about 1 and a half months..So far, I can't be complacent to think that my appeal will take the minimum processing time. I am actually thinking of reapplying in a similar course like HND. So confused..

Anyway, regards to everyone in this forum.. :)

All they would have to do to see that there are higher education collaborative agreements between the City of London Business College and the University of Sunderland is to google it, if they had they would have found, as I did, this page which mentions these connections and specifically with regard to Pre-Masters courses. It appears that they also have higher education collaborative agreements with RDI/University of Wales.

Congrats for ur visa. however, as a precautionary measure you much sort out first the license of your school. Y? you know my sis in law who was a student visa, when she came here in UK last month, Two filipino were held in the airport by immigration officer cuz they found out their school has no license. Hi everyone!

With our case, i think the embassy/consul is looking for ways/reasons just for us to be denied. It's true IainBusby, they could just have searched the net to see what schools are related or in agreement with each other. It's really sad...

We plan to re-enroll, HND in a different school. Of course we can not wait for another year for the appeal.

Fatedtoloveyou, don't buy your ticket and leave yet, I know someone who was caught unaware with the same situation and was deported. She was not even allowed to leave Heathrow airport, she was sent right back to the Philippines. She's from Cabanatuan City. Fix your papers here first. I wish you all the best.

God bless to everyone... :)

fatedtoloveyou I understand your dilemma....but like what I said you just can't transfer school...you should inquire about your situation in the embassy. There are a lot of applicants just like you. They were approved but they can't leave the country. From what I've heard and what I've read you have to wait for the school to fix their situation. But, I also suggest that you do some research first.Maybe there's another way...maybe what you are planning to do is now allowed.

This website is a good starting point.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk/adult-students/

You need to have a letter of acceptance from an approved education provider which your sister may be able to help you with. Also you need to have at least GBP7000/PHP550K (exact amount depends on the cost of course and location) in a bank account in your name - could be joint with someone else.

It's not allowed as only official sponsorship is allowed now. You need to have the money in an account in your name (could be joint with someone else) for 30 days prior to your application.

I've seen suggestions that the UK government is being tougher on students and checking that the course is of benefit to them rather than being an excuse to come to the UK to work. You may have to be able to provide good evidence of why you want to switch careers. Also bear in mind that even on an NVQ you are only allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours a week (including any work which is part of your course).

[QUOTE=darren-b;185129]It's not allowed as only official sponsorship is allowed now. You need to have the money in an account in your name (could be joint with someone else) for 30 days prior to your application.

I'm sorry for having a lot of questions...I just need some ideas to enlighten me regarding this matter...what do you mean an official sponsorship? are you referring to the university where i supposed to enroll? does it mean that my aunt cannot be considered as my sponsor as i study there in UK?

Sponsorship can only be by a government or an international scholarship agency, not by an individual (relative, etc).

Your aunt could help you by lending you the required money up front (at least GBP7000/PHP550K) for you to have whilst you apply. You can then return the money to her once your application has been processed and assuming your application is successful she can then provide you with a monthly allowance once you are in the UK.

Thank you for your reply. It means a lot. But again, i still have a few questions...You mention before that the account should be under my name or i should be joint with someone else. What if the account is on my aunt's and mother's name? Will they consider that? I had my own account, but the amount is not enough as they required. I really appreciate your reply. God bless!

Your name must be on the account, though it can be joint with someone else. An account just in your mother's and aunt's name is no good.

"Your money must be held in cash. Shares, bonds, pension funds or similar savings accounts will not be accepted."

If you can't withdraw the money immediately then I suspect it won't be acceptable - probably best to have a checking account.

The bank statement you provide must be less than a month old when you apply for your visa. So yes if you've already applied you could withdraw the money.
