Brrr ... don't now what it's like in other parts of the UK, but here in Central Scotland the "Arctic" wind - so prevalent throughout the full month of May - has come back with a vengeance. Still, I mustn't complain, at least the sun continues to shine :sunshine: [for the moment, anyway!]. Let's just be thankful for small mercies.

It DID born :icon_lol: Once you get over 40 everything rapidly goes downhill, I used to have eyesight as acute as a lappet-faced vulture scanning the Masai Mara for a cadaver, now I can barely see my hand in front of my face :icon_lol:

Would you believe? :cwm24: - more than 6 years have elapsed since this thread of mine was closed - yet today, I've felt an irresistible urge to reopen it!

Terpe has recently been pointing out how high the temperatures are in the Southern Philippines at the moment ... but, here in Scotland, I'd be hard put to remember a time in all my 70~odd years on the planet when the mercury's dropped so low in June. Apart, that is, from 1953 on Coronation Day.

It is blinkin' :freezin: Brr!

It wasn't bad up here, to be fair. Just a bit overcast.

I was due for a bike ride today, but my fortnightly 'sinus headaches' meant enthusiasm was lacking. :cwm3:

Tomorrow ! :olddude:

Was doing a spot of fishing this afternoon/evening in Dudley just west of Birmingham, at just after 5-00pm had to put a coat on bcuz of the cold biting wind, by 7-30 pm couldn't stand it anymore so packed up.

Muggy yesterday temp was well into the 20's but in the Midlands today it was cooler. Warmer further south in Gloucestershire.

Finally stuck my head "above the parapet" :peepwall: this forenoon - and plucked up courage to venture out of my IGLOO for the first time in 24 hours - once the wind had dropped ... but it REMAINS overcast and chilly! :36_1_26[1]:

It's noticeably cooler this year where I am. We've had a few nice days, very humid on Thursday but too chilly to have dinner comfortably in the garden last evening. Where's the sunshine gone? :sunshine:

Strange day today, we have that fine drizzly rain, but boy is it humid, think it needs a good electrical storm to clear the air.
