Its just less than a year from the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa which is set to kick off on June 11 of that year and I am already getting World Cup fever... :ARsurrender:
Here's as it stands in regards to the teams that ARE gonna play in the tourney FOR SURE! (as of June 17, 2009 from the FIFA Website):
Africa (6 slots including South Africa as hosts)
South Africa
Asia (4.5 slots)
Australia
Japan
South Korea
North Korea
5th Placer has to play a home and away match-up against NZ (Oceania Champs) to qualify...
Europe (13 slots)
Netherlands
North America/Central America/Caribbean (3.5 slots)
No One Qualified Yet but 4th Placer will have to play the 5th Placer in South America to get in...
Oceania (0.5 slots)
No One Qualified Yet but NZ (the division's champion) has to play the 5th Placer in Asia to qualify....
South America (4.5 slots)
No One Qualified Yet but 5th Placer will have to play the 4th Placer in North America to qualify...
As of now, I have no major things to say save congrats to the teams mentioned above for making the cut and best of luck for those still fighting for a slot! And here's hoping New Zealand gets into the World Cup...
