My wife will shortly be applying for a SET(M) Her passport states her original family name, her life in the UK test pass also states that as it was taken from her passport.

The other correspondence to prove her living at my address uses my family name which she adopted. Is the use of these 2 names ok as far as the SET(M) application is concerned?

I have read that the BIA takes the name in the passport so if she didn't change it she will have to sign the form with this name, although I believe she can legally use either family name in the UK.

Does she have to have her family name in her passport changed or does it not matter regarding the BIA?

Thank you rabb5it

Its states that always, what name had in the passport/travel documents was, that will be the name to be appeared in anywhere like FNIC- foreign National ID card (as far as UKBA home office is concerend).

Now, if you want her to use the married name, ammend her passport before apply for SET(M)
