Top best british beach - anyone can recommend?

hehe i've been to skegness the sea is like chocolate pinas na lang even the flights is expensive.

yeap! we were there just last summer. we stayed in Golden Sun, one of Haven's holiday park. The beach is brilliant!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I can recommend Silver Sands beach near Aberdour. I also went there for weekend trips. It is easily accessible from train after Edinburgh. Good clean water, toilets, grass to sit on, bring bucket and spade.

There is also a caravan park called Pettycur with beautiful views across the Forth estuary.PettyCur caravan website (http://www.pettycur.co.uk/)

That would be self catering, but theres hotels and BB nearby there too.

if you come to the south coast try studland beach and sandbanks:xxgrinning--00xx3:,theres even a nudist beach near studland :Erm:

when its hot the beaches are fantastic!!

There's some amazing beaches on the Gower Peninsula near Swansea. Oxwich Bay is a long expanse of sand, Caswell is a nice little beach for surfing but the best is Three Cliffs Bay. You can get there by walking through some woods, emerging onto a beautiful beach with a ruined castle on the cliffs behind. It really is a beautiful place. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I believe there are some nice beaches in the Norfolk area, I personally like the South coast of England, there are no sandy beaches whatsoever down there..:NoNo: but there is Brighton which I LOVE!:) And many fascinating towns along the coastline which are old viking settlements..:D

The people seem to be bonkers around the south coast,(is it the sea air?:icon_lol:) it was down there that somebody put posters on the closed woolworths stores claiming that the stores would be turned into brothels!:icon_lol: There is a baker shop clalled "Big Baps!" (baps can mean boobs..:icon_lol:) There is a cafe called M.T. Plates cafe...(empty plates .... M.T. Plates get it?) I'm sure there is other silly stuff like that, like, people dye their hair bright blue! Or pink! Or green! :icon_lol:

Brighton is great cause there are so many characters there, hippys, punk rockers, emo's etc, I've seen a few Harajuku style Japanese girls there aswell so it's a cultured place...buskers in the streets are nothing unusual, and there is some fascinating shopping to be done in the laines...it's just streets of fashion shops and market stalls and stuff...Brighton pier is quite good too!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Gorleston, wahh rusty, we been to lowestoft, yuck the sand was sooooooo dirty, but here in my place Gorleston beach, kiddie corner...wow so clean, I notice and tell hubby that I didnt see any plastic or dirty things in the beach,every weekend loads of people in the beach and every morning, I saw a people keep picking up all the rubbish.


This is the place, supposed to be to invite you to have picnic, but Maria offer a better deal eh :rolleyes::icon_lol: which is perfeclty fantastic,

Definitely Nigel the Gorleston, wow you wouldnt imagine loads of car parked near seaside every weekend and I manage to ask one pinay where they came form,(forgot the place) and ask hubby where it is,he said 4 hours to drive :yikes: we are lucky to be 30 steps away from the sea :rolleyes::BouncyHappy:

Scotland boasts many fine beaches. Some of the loveliest, most unspoilt of these, happen to be in the extreme far north - Durness, for example - but it's a very far distance to travel. :Erm: St Andrews and other small towns in the East Neuk of Fife are nice places to visit too. But I imagine your preference is for somewhere nearer home, since you're living in England.

I thought there was no sandy beach anywhere further east..I was wrong! haha Hayling Island near Portsmouth used to have sandy beaches, put they put a load of rocks on it to protect buildings near the water...basically they ruined the only sandy beach for bloody miles!:doh Hayling Island is like a ghost town now..:NoNo:

The best beaches in the world are in Cornwall IMO and thats coming from a guy that lives in Bohol..

depends what kind of beach you like

Woolacombe sands (nearly 2 miles long of flat sand) Croyde bay and Saunton near by)
North Devon

Watergate bay near newquay (good surf but watch the current) 2 miles of sand ), Newquay I dislike but the surrounding area has many good beaches and loads of camping sites
North Cornwall

Perranporth (miles of sand below a haven site) fairly good surfing)
North Cornwall

Bournemouth (3 miles of sand plus amusements/pier etc
Dorset

Personally I prefer some of the lesser known coves with smaller but beautiful beaches try for example

Trebarwith Strand near Boscastle North Cornwall

I am a real beach bum surfer type so know loads of beaches both family safe and a bit out of the way but very pretty (can have dodgy rips though)

Watch out for grey seals and rare birds.
