Hi,

Got a tricky question for everyone, I've got a Filipina friend. Married to a British national recently and they are now planning to apply for her and her kids settlement visa application. She got 3 kids from previous relationship aged 14, 12 and 9 (she got the sole custody) whom she wanted to apply for settlement visa. The tricky situation is when she was 16 she gave birth to baby boy and the parents of her boyfriend at the time took the child from her and she doesn't know the whereabouts of the child anymore nor the parents of her ex bf. She got the birth cert of the child, hired a detective to locate the child and the grandparents but to no avail. My friend is now about to fill up an application form for settlement visa and lodge it at the british embassy. The question is does she need to declare the missing child or not? She is so torn because she doesn't know what to do. Will the ECO know that she got 4 kids and would this be an issue? Every records she got even her income tax returns in the Phils and insurances only shows 3 kids.

I should not worry my pretty head if I were on your friend situation anyway, since she dont have plan to bring that kid in the UK then...or if she really wants to be honest tell the real score (true story) on her cover letter to the ECO then....

I agree with Mrs M, unless she still hopes to eventually find her other child then I don't think it's worth mentioning as far as the visa app is concerned.
Iain.
