Shame. I became a bit obcessed with coconut lately. I tried tinned coconut water -- it's more like sugar than coconut!

I'll be willing to try that. I'll give Thai coconut a miss though.

Loads of shops around Hounslow sell coconuts, mainly because of its high ethnic population, you will notice that if you walk around Hounslow, their coconuts are usually sourced from Sri Lanka:xxgrinning--00xx3:My brother in law is Thai,he has a resto in Surrey, makes incredible home made coconut iced-cream :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I spent three years in Hong Kong eating every Friday at Curry Pot in Wan Chai. When I can't go, I normally phone for home delivery and the moment I say hello, they already know it's me. I've never been to India myself, so I don't really know how a real Indian curry tastes like. I would like to believe that all the restaurants I've tried are just making the taste more commercialised. There's one in Sevenoaks that I super love though. Tastes quite similar to that of Curry Pot in HK.

Stanley now (or when I was still there) has got a few thai cuttleries...a lot cheaper than buying them from bazaar traders. Kids clothing are also really good -- can get a few better stuff those at alleys in central.

A warning re parking. Be wary of the multi storey serving the Council HQ next to the park. I guess during the week it is for employees only but previously the council subbed it out to private enterprise and it cost ££££'s

And yes Tawi would love to be part of the Fire Brigade if am not too old for this kind of work. Growing up I've always wanted to be a PMA grad but that didn't happen.

It's cool to have these guys stationed in Hounslow though, this is one of the things I like about being in the UK.

The missus and her friends went to that Ice cream Stall I think they are ashford, nice couple selling the Ice cream when we went up with the Wife and her friends mucking about ringing the bell they had on the trolley:D

Weather was very british bright sunshine then overcast then cloudy with strongish gusts of wind.

I have to say it was heaving with people and the stalls were much thinner on the ground this time, but it seemed either every phill went today or stayed a little longer about 4.30ish as we look from the fun fair down to the stage it was heaving. Some of the food stalls food queues were miles long and noticed some regular stalls were not there.

Funny to see the police lazing around with little to do very little litter, people smiling when you bumped into them.

Even those chav kids were quite friendly if you smiled and had a laugh with them:xxgrinning--00xx3:

The funfair was a tad sureal it kept playing early 90's drum n bass with people carrying round huge soft toys. Expensive but very friendly with young and old smiling. Plenty of non phills in a happy mood in the funfair.
Most the police did in that section was join in the laughter as people on the ride spining people round at them upside down.

One of the best bits for me was the this young white kid with his asian mate fighting on the martial art stall. The white Kid was taking a battering from the asian boy. When the instructor shouted out it might help if you open your eyes the whole crowd was laughing their heads off:D

If you had a house fire in west london today dont expect a fire engine to turn up as im sure i counted 5 fire engines/vehicles dotted around the park:omg: i guess it was all those bbqs:D

As well as Phill mates with my wife both oursleves and others had non phills come down everyone enjoyed the foods and fun. All the non phills said they would go next year some even said they were going back tomorrow with other friends:xxgrinning--00xx3:

As we walked in around 1 ish there was a young lady singing who was umm spirited but i did hear one young girl a little later sing who seemed to be quite good. I think she was in a band with some mc types who kind of sounded like black eye peas. But not taking to much notice as was busy munching ice cream:D

The mcing was ummmm, but have to be honest we rarely take any notice of the stage and wish they would turn it down a tad as hearing some nu yorker rabbiting about no war blah blah is not my idea of entertainment. Sadly instead of singing surely some more comedy would go down well better:Erm: More fun for the family than some young kids singing trying to sound street tuff.

Dom & Jet,

Nice to meet you, if only for a few minutes.

...as per the Fiesta,
good turn-out of people & all seemed to be having a good time.
The food stalls seemed reasonable value, and many were "mobbed".

.. the music ? .... overall, "pony".
What was that, I'm here all the way from L.A .... that's Los Angeles" nonsence ?
Thankfully the sound quality was pretty abysmal, so didn't have to
endure too much of it.

Would have been better with "real" singing, and "sing-along" DJ tunes.

indeed having all the young phill bands on I guess is good to give them a head start but maybe they could do on a friday night like they had a few years back where a big boyband (forgotten the name came over and played) performed. So all da Phill chave kids can get down, and then maybe have a mass videoke so we can laugh at them all and hear the odd gem:D

It was funny how the performers kept banging on where they are from (ie USA, new york, la) and how different the UK is then thinking hang on better say hands up if your pinoy

With the foods stalls We noticed a bit of a price war going on in the afternoon as in the morning some were quite expensive compared to others.

Sadly people didn't seem to bother checking and went back to the ones which were cheapest in the morning. Hence the big queues on some stalls Luckily some of our group went to one stall which was quite expensive earlier and called over the rest:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Funny when one of the guys on the stall around midday was thinking how will we get trade as all the phills more intrested in the food stalls and pinics. He then started shouting free pens and throwing them to passer bys, then i hear him say no just one pen not two as he dissapeared behind a mass of phills:icon_lol:

I love to buy sale perfumes as presence.:xxgrinning--00xx3: But I used to buy signature ones.

One time, I spotted a man selling perfumes. Six perfumes for the cost of only 20£ and the former price was 200£. I was so confused to buy and stayed infront of him for a while until I felt dizzy with the smell and I dissapeared:D

I went past the stall on a couple of occasions and I was appalled at seeing people actually spending real money on utter junk, which I would not use to degrease the backaxle of my car...:doh

I saw similar stalls in the past, at all the County Shows, and again, although I did get on alright with the owner, I couldn't help feeling that it was a blatant scam from start to finish.:NoNo:

I am sorry to have missed you, and next time I will keep my eyes more open and look specifically for "somebody" resembling Homer Simpson.....

So next year i will be looking for a wide eyed chelsea fan and a undercover agent royal lady crawling out of a well with a plane spoting son.

There was 2 pinoy kids M-cee'ing up on stage, they were good :icon_lol: There was a gang of about 8 or 9 pinoy 13 year old "Chavs" outside Hounslow train station with their womenfolk(aged about 12:icon_lol:)and just outside the park I saw some pinoy teenagers putting cans of lager into their backpack in case they were searched, when in rome :icon_lol: its good to see they are integrating and taking on the customs of their adopted country :icon_lol:

The Pinoy Chav kids make me laugh they seem to Mimic Black Gangsta kids from the South Side of LA or Camberwell. de Rigueur dress code appears to be ridiculously baggy clothes, oversized baseball caps worn the wrong way round and large amounts of Argos "jewellery". English is spoken with a Jamaican accent.

I hope they don't take the aping of South London vermin too far and get involved in gangs, knives, drugs etc

Their mums wont let them have shabu or knives, but why their obssession with LA and the Bloods'N'Crips?Whats wrong with their own identities :Erm: I saw some with Gangsta gaits,I think they put tissue paper into one of their trainers to give them that lop-sided "Limp" its cool :icon_lol:

I thought there were a lot less stalls than at previous fiestas one notable absentee was Western Union who are always good for T Shirts, Caps and Bags.

I was disappointed to see the organisers had lowered themselves to renting space to cowboys using dodgy selling techniques to flog cheap perfume to the unwary (in corner of site near walk through to fairground).
