... what would happen to a Filipina wife if her British husband were to die within the 27 months' validity period allowed for settlement? Could she, as his widow, still be eligible to apply for 'Indefinite Leave To Remain' in the UK? Or is it more likely the Home Office would "send her packing" :Wave: back to her homeland, pronto?

I think the home office would send her packing.. In fact, I am pretty sure this has happended a few times (although don't quote me on that:Erm:) and in each case they have told the lady in question to move on... :NoNo:

The rules actually allow the bereaved spouse to apply for ILR as long as the marriage was still subsisting at the time of the death. See paragraph 287(b)

Obviously you may be able to point to cases whether the HO refused ILR, though you may be thinking of people who were here on a fiancee visa who had not yet married and applied for FLR. In these cases it would not be possible for them to extend their visa.

Serious business though, I am currently coming to the end of my 3 mth probation with my new employer. Upon completion my company life insurance comes info force at 6 times annual salary!!!!!!!!!!. The doctor is limited compaired to our healer. They cant believe that cancer is gone but it truly happens. Thanks to those who prayed for us:Hellooo::Hellooo:

Anyway,
for me, if this case will happen. (Hindi ako natatakot) Very sad of course but Im happy to go home, and go for ministry.:cwm38::cwm38:
