We have been using a Nationwide (Visa) CASH CARD to transfer cash to Phil for several years.

I transfer the funds on line into the account I use for the purpose and my wife’s cousin draws the money from, usually a BPI, ATM. (this service used not to be available at BPI thus a journey to the nearest alternative bank was necessary) I think it was MetroBank. I know HSBC was the best as one could draw the total daily limit in one withdrawal, unlike other banks, but the nearest HSBC for my wife’s cousin is a long journey.

I understand BPI may be making a charge for the service, which was free at other banks.

Has anyone experience of using a Nationwide Cash Card at a BPI ATM ?

Thanks

i do it all the time, have done for a few years.
BPI don't charge for using a Nationwide card...unless they've started to do so in the 4months I've been away from the Philippines.

I used to have HSBC but they DID charge...although i agree it's nice to be able to withdraw the max in one hit. Nationwide just works out cheaper if you are withdrawing a lot of cash frequently.

Thanks for that.

If you look at http://nationwide.co.uk/current_acco...ansactions.htm
it explains there are no charges on CASH CARDS at present by Nationwide.

I think maybe BPI are making a charge. That was what I would like to know.

You should be able to see here:-

http://nationwide.co.uk/current_account/foreigntransactions.htm

if a Nationwide customer is charged for cash withdrawals in any particular country.

I am in Spain and its free, as far as Nationwide is concerned, and so far, no charges by any Spanish ATM which I have used on a Debit Card
