were both the same live in 100 y/o house:omg::omg::omg:,but the difference is we have an extension done in our house[we make the kitchen big space and our dining room,make a big conservatory infront of it]but besides that every time my hubby go to ireland for 3 or 4 days im alone also in our house.in the morning i go to our garden until 11 am then back here in the house,what i did is i turn on the radio and make it loud while im doing something upstairs[cleaning the toilet,bedroom etc etc[.then back again to our garden to feed our pigeons and greyhounds for 1 to 2 hours.when i come back here i eat dinner already b4 im going upstair[but i make sure that i lock all the doors coz much scary the people who go to our house and stealing something:doh than the ghost]all night i open the lights in our room and also in the stairs.i lock the door and all night i talk or chat to all my friends who are online.then at 5:00 am i sleep even 2 hours b4 do the rouitine again.this is what i did everytime im alone in our house:xxgrinning--00xx3:

:Erm: You're not alone [s'cuse the pun!] ... nor is there anything at all unusual in feeling this way. I have a long-standing male friend who's ages with me. As we were both widowed and early-retired, he and I used to go hill-walking too (funnily enough) almost every Thursday. Then I went off to the Philippines for 3 weeks last September to meet Myrna, with whom I'd been corresponding for a year. In November, I went back out there to marry her and stayed for three months. She came to the UK in March and, to give her time to settle into her new environment, I seldom left the house :NoNo: without her accompanying me. And when I did, it was only for an hour or two at most ... and always during daylight.

In late Spring, I resumed my walks with my friend. But SHE came with us. Likewise, she was present on Friday nights when I'd been previously been in the habit of going out for a couple of beers in [normally] exclusively male company.

Now, however, with the lighter nights, she's perfectly content with remaining at home on her own. So don't despair :rolleyes: ... it just takes time to adjust to a completely different lifestyle in [initially] strange surroundings.

I feel the same Wheela. We live in more than 200 years old house and I told my hubby and Mom that there's ghost in your house and I feel it but no one believes me so it lessen my fears.

Our computer room is always cold even summer:bigcry: so I called this ghost room. During winter, we used centralized oil heater and still the temperature is cold:doh That's why I prefer to stay at the conservatory:cwm24:

There's a priory in our village, and according to history, it was a catholic church before and built in 1097. It was attacked twice and many people died:omg:

I was brought up in an old cottage and over the years people come and go, pass away and it is spooky and as a kid I always thought something else was in the cottage as well...... I called it a Hob Goblin as it played tricks on me ,like find the keys and then find them where you already looked, or walking noises up stairs and no one there,or the feeling some one is just right behind you and my favourite the feeling that some one just sat on the bed when pitched dark still freaks me out !!!! ... But don`t forget in the old days they never had fridges and had an old fashioned pantry and cold room where meat was stored, made by stone slabs and water underneath...

But, I also work in an old place too an old Manor House it is recorded on the internet saying it is haunted by a Grey Lady who walks from the private chapel to a local church where she threw herself off the steeple... but working late there I have seen weird things happen and once had a shadow slowly pass over me in the middle of the day, telling my mate he laughed but the next night he and the security guy chatting had the same thing happen and they are sort of quite now.

I have an open mind about these things and coming from a hunting family you have feeling when things are not right my father is 83 years old and when a sleep at home in his chair I creep up on him to pick up a used tea cup to wash up and when you enter his personal space of maybe 1 foot from him he wakes up every time.... so how`s mad that... Phil..

Don't be afraid of ghosts Mrs.Daddy. If ever you see one, pray for it. The reason why ghosts abound and show itself to people is because they need prayers. All of us have the third eye.. just that we don't use it... but our instincts would tell us if there's something weird around.. when that happens, light a incense (insenso). It worked for me.. hehehe... but use the one with a good scent... or else your house will smell like patay... LOL

when hubby went out to watch ACDC concert. I couldn't sleep coz was thinking that someone might knew hubby was out and he would enter our house. i heard noises that someone was trying our door. well of course that was just me thinking it.
i think i have harpaxophobia or xenophobia... when i was in PI, i hate walking in a crowd always thinking that someone is behind me and following me to rob/snatch something from me.
