Oldham 0 - 0 Stockport
On a rainy, sun-baked afternoon at Boundary Park, the Oldham manager will be left with thinking how his valiant men failed to seal victory against a vastly inferior Stockport outfit.
The first half saw Oldham find the net 14 times - only to be given offside each time by linesman Mike Smith from Stockport!
The second half saw a more determined effort from a vastly superior Latics only to be denied another 24 times by the other assistant ref. Dave Cheater, the father of the Stockport defenders Ian, Gary, Tom and Mark Cheater - midfielders Ron, Paul, Chris and Toby Cheater and strikers Chin and Lee Hu Wan Wong. (They say that nowadays one in every five people on Earth is Chinese - I think it's Dave and Toby Cheater for Stockport!)
With much of the season now over, the Oldham fans will be cursing their bad luck and maybe looking at another spell in League One.
