This is for British men only ok...

Just wondering why many foreigners preffer to marry Filipina than their own country women? What are the traits of Filipina you are being attracted with?:Erm:

I think in reality, men (like myself) who date and/or marry a Filipina are in a minority. But the western ideal of Beauty is more in line with what can be seen amongst a lot of Asian/Pacific Islander women. In fact, if you look at the people the west is now considering as the most Beautiful women in the world you will see a pattern emerging. As examples, I can think of Jessica Alba (:bigcry:), Beyonce, Eva Mendez and Eva Longoria. Now, granted these are not Filipinas, but they share many traits a Filipina has. Particularly skin pigmentation! And think of all of those white women who spend so many hours under a sunbed to try and achieve what Filipinas have naturally. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Also, Filipinas are family orientated. They want to have a family! And in this modern day there are many western women choosing not to have children but to focus on a career. Perhaps, the Filipina meets the desires a lot of men have for the woman they wish to spend the rest of their lives with?

I would find it quite strange if some guy said quite specifically "I want to marry a filipina" :icon_lol: because thats marrying and not falling in love with, you could be on a plane flying to manila and meet a pakistani lady you fall in love with instead of wanting to meet a woman from a specific location, you cant help who you fall in love with, its chemistry and spark not location, location, location unless you fall head-over-heels for an estate agent :Erm: The best looking women in the world are south and central americans and northern Pakistanis, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder? But any guy who says he just wants a lady from a certain country is limiting his options and I cant work out the reasoning :Erm:

Plus its a loaded question anyway BD,your hardly going to get impartial unbiased answers on a Pinoy forum :icon_lol: But sometimes its like a brand-name mentality "Yeah mate,I always wear armani, got my BMW,my TV is Bang & Olufsen, and my wifes a filipina" :Erm:

:xxgrinning--00xx3: Very true! I would guess a man from Asia would find a blonde, pale skin woman very attractive. But again there is no absolute rule. I personally like Asian women, but I have friends who prefer Red heads and so on... But personally, I had an interest in the phils and with other Asian countries since when I was young, watching Bruce Lee and then later studying Martial Arts and for a time enjoying Filipino Martial Arts:rolleyes:

Plus, when I think of the places in this world I want to see, I think of Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan.. And rarely Europe :Erm: So perhaps my attraction goes beyond finding a mate but to other reasons as well?

Filipinas won't bugger off with another bloke after living with you for 16 years when you have done absolutely nothing wrong - and the courts decide in favour of the mother and force you to pay a ridiculous amount of money when you haven't got it! And taking your two children with her thus giving you depression and jeopordising your career and FORCING the sale of your house and paying a barrister to make sure that you have no chance in court!!!

Want me to carry on????

English women? No way!!!!

Al.

P.S. I fully accept that this is a wholly biased opinion and not reflective of English women - it is just my own opinion - and I am still hurting from 'losing' my children - and part of my life.

Thank God I have found Hanna!

"I want to marry a filipina" because thats marrying and not falling in love with,:xxgrinning--00xx3:

its not merely marrying a filipina after failing to have a better or best relationship with western ladies..

No way!!!!

Looks like we are second chance, 3rd chance or the better option after failing one..

As a Filipina, we wanted to be chosen as someone who showed character and values that any man will need for ( not simply wanting) regardless of the race, color, intellect etc.

personally , i wanted to say " LOVE ME FOR WHAT I AM"

want is just filling in a part of desires... but needing is something we have to have to go FURTHER in life...

hope i don't sound perfectionist.. But a woman desires to be Love as being important to a Man..:)

Thank you Northerner and British Detained for your comments. My beautiful Hanna has brought the smile back to my face.
I have researched depression AT LENGTH since I developed the illness. Of course, mental illnesses are HIGHLY embarrassing - most people tend to believe either that you are 'pulling legs' or that you have become a 'loony.'
Even now - many years after the event, I find it difficult to explain to Hanna why, on some days, I don't want to hug and kiss. I know that she doesn't understand.
It is a VERY terrible illness indeed.
I apologise - I shouldn't be taking over this thread in this way.
Here's hoping none of you get wot I got!!! :Cuckoo::cwm3:

I understand you Al having been in that situation, being depressed and just want to be on your own is something that is not only psychological but most killing part is emotionally. Thanks that same as you I found the right man for me and would be with him the rest of my life. Only that right now, though his freedom is taken away from him...I still love him and my love for him will never change:cwm38:

.........English women? No way!!!!

Hi Al,

Having been married and divorced in the USA and have also seen similar problems in the UK, I would say that the marriage relationship meltdown is more of a "Western" thing.

Most American men I talked to told me they were frightened of what their wives could do, so they kowtowed and kept their mouths shut......

I worked in Asia for years and most of the men who I met had married Asian ladies and never looked back.
I have not met many married men as a group in the UK who have said the same.:NoNo:

The western litigious societies we live in have made many men unhappy, whilst the ex's seem to profit in marriage break-ups.

I love my Filipina wife more and more as every day goes by, I never felt anything like this with any western lady.

In someways, I'm interested to know myself, why I have gone down this route, flown halfway around the world several times, next time to get married....I'm only going to say I'm glad I have.

Surely we all strive for something better, for something that suits who we are...Yes sure I've seen one or two ridiculous sites, when I've been in Pinas, but hey, that's life....we all make judgements, all got an opinion.

I agree with many points raised in this thread, on all sides....we spotted a, for want of a better word, an "opportunity" (that sounds awful, I really don't mean that :NoNo:) and ran with it.

If the internet hadnt been invented, non of our lives would have crossed, I definately wouldn't be pursuing the love of my life, if it was just down to writing a few letters a month & waiting for the postman to arrive.

I know I'm happy...so there you go. :)

Look at the english ladies stories on here also "My boyfriend has kids in the Philippines........." blanket statements arent rooted in fact,it would have been better to say its EASIER to get a divorce in western society,we dont have the expense they do in pinas, but its just as prevalent, seen it often enough, look on a pinay dating website, see how many women have kids from a previous partner, thousands of them :NoNo: Till death us do part isnt the mantra of every single pinay, doesnt happen that way, thats what I am saying about stereotypes :NoNo:Besides, many ladies in Pinas would leave their husband but because they dont have the support network we do,they dont have the social welfare system that would house feed and cloth their children like we do they are forced to stay with the guy and endure years of misery, abuse, and general unhappiness till death us do part, then and only then do they get their peace.

I bet the "West" has a much bigger rate of divorce though :omg:

I have already given you the reason why, most pinays dont have 200K pesos for an annulment, and lots of them suffer in silence :rolleyes:They have no finance nor family support so cannot leave their husband but like I said, have a look on this site itself for ladies, and english women connected to pinoy guys, who were in previous marriages.

aposhark
12th August 2009, 16:12

I can see you don't like generalisations and, to a certain extent I can understand why you don't.
However, I am sure you would understand the many Surveyors and Technicians that I used to work with who love Filipinas more than any other ladies from any other country.
It is just a "given" to them, and now having married a Filipina too, I can now understand why they all told me they had never looked back.

All my old mates married either pinays, indonesians or Thais, just because of the location we were based in,some have fallen by the wayside, some havent, some are married for life, some are not, happens all around the world and isnt specific to pinays,I truthfully know many, many who have seperated from their husbands, and know many more who would do so if their society wasnt so constricting and hypocritical in many ways, just being a realist.

It's the same when you see Peter Stringfellow with a young 20 year old model walking around with him. Now if Peter Stringfellow was a bus driver, he would be known as Peter "lives with his mum" Stringfellow :Erm: Ok, making that a little extreme maybe. But the ability to provide a safe, secure home is something a woman wants. And for us westerners, we are like Peter Stringfellow! We are the millionaire! We can change a life overnight and provide help for a poor family that no other local man could provide! We provide security and the knowledge that any children will be well looked after and grow and go onto better things...

I think I may have mentioned the following in a previous thread a long time ago but.......
When I got married to my wife, I asked her why she liked me, an older man.
She told me she didn't like "chexboys" (playboys) and I understood that.
I later said that I was so happy to have married her as her life would change so much because of us meeting and marrying.
Talk about tears :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry:

:Erm:I guess PS was a bad example. But imagine an english girl meeting a doctor and she is from a family of welfare recipients. Same thing... Hi again Northerner, all I'm trying to say is be watchful with your sentiments and comments when you are with her soon.
I don't know any other Filipina than my own wife, but I regularly have to say sorry for my comments which seemed innocuous to me at the time.
Her sensitiveness goes off the scale at times and I see some other English men notice this too with their women.

:iagree:

I was never looking for a filipina, but now i have found one and fallan in love with one:cwm12: she is a real special lady, beautiful in everyway to me, with a unique smile, caring and considerate, lovable, affectionate.... should i go on
... im not saying all filipinas are that way but from what i read i get the impression most are.

:yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::icon_lol: brown skin :Rasp::Rasp::Rasp: some how a blonde white skin pilipina has gone to far west for my liking:xxgrinning--00xx3::ARsurrender:

Sorry, but white skin isn't the term for it. Unless you've met someone with truckloads of money who can afford to sit in a vat of expensive bleaching stuff for hours, what you'll see is ashen skin with some scarring caused by the acid that the unlucky lady used (ladies, you familiar with Mena? don't try it. i know someone who looked gray-reddish-morena. that stuff burns your skin off in the long run!)

Loads of street kids in Cebu, avoid the footbridge next to Robinsons at night if you dont want to see loads of them sleeping under cardboard, very sad,I gave a kid 50 or 100 pesos earlier this year,he was a very small skinny kid,and this older girl tried to mug him :Erm:He kept near me for protection till she left, always be thankfull for what you have, this country mightnt seem so great at times but some of the alternatives dont bear thinking about :NoNo:

Aww, poor kid. That was a nice thing you did. Hopefully, he wasn't part of a "syndicate" (think Oliver Twist). Else the grown up would have gotten the money when you turned to leave.

Good grief! Hahaha! Why were you sitting alone anyway?

I'm glad there are no homeless people where I live. My bf's visiting this December (I'm going home too! Yippee!!) and he's gonna have to rent a condo five minutes from my home. My aunt suggested renting a room in the house behind our next-door neighbor, but I'm not sure if Matt's paid for his room or not. His only other options were in the Burgos area in Makati. As close as that is to me, I'd rather have him on one of my granddad's sofas than have him dodging pimps and streetwalkers everyday. I hate Burgos. I got chased by some white guy a couple years ago when I walked a friend home after work and his place was at the opposite side of Burgos from mine. Stupid foreigner probably thought any girl walking around there at 5am *obviously* worked there.

Waitaminnit. How did this thread change from topic A to topic B? :yikes:

Getting back on topic, it's kinda funny to read "i'm looking for any good woman, not a specific race" while we're all here at a forum specifically for dating Filipinas.:icon_lol: But I understand though. Filipinas work hard to help make life easier for their men. It gets better when the men can provide more as it means the Filipina can focus more on nurturing than on worrying about bills to pay. I always figured women everywhere were the same, but after reading all your posts, I think I've changed my mind.

Having met Hanna a few times I will agree that you should "Thank God" for her as she is so obviously a genuinely nice person..Anyone that meets her can tell that..(bloody good cook too)

I must say though Al not everybody is nearly as lucky as you or I.. Even here.

Thanks for that Fred. I agree - Hanna seems to be able to make friends before she has even opened her mouth!!! I wish I had her gift!! And yes, I REALLY appreciate how lucky I am - she has probably saved me from doing something stupid.

Some truth on what you said,if not true. I think some men have the ideal or preference woman in their mind when it comes to personal choice. I understand you can meet and fall in love with someone regardless. I guess, some men are attracted to Asian and some men attracted to western women and vice versa. In the end it all comes to preferences...Not when you fall in love thoug.

Another point, salient at that for the "I want to marry a pinay" brigade,it cant be for their looks because you can see pinay looking women in Thailand,Malaysia, indonesia, even Belize :icon_lol:so it cant be the looks :rolleyes:and you get similar strong family bond traits all around the world in loads of different cultures, thats fact,so why the fascination with pinays?:Erm:

If I knew the answer to that question, I would be giving lectures to pact out theatres :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Tawi, maybe you should get the guy who gave you your degree to sort you out with a PHD in Filipina/Westerner relationships, then you could make the $$$ telling people:xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:
