I remember back in 1993 when Malta released the EgyptAir hijacker Ali Resaq (do a google for EgyptAir Flight 648). He was supposed to have a 25 year jail sentence, but released after just 8; this was due to Malta not having any anti-terror rules and a system of reducing tariff by Presidential Pardon most prisoners get whenever a new President of Malta is elected. Anyway, Rezaq was released in 1993, the Americans were very angry indeed, and when Rezaq made it to Nigeria, they got him, and now he's safely jailed in America for life.
You think we're barmy in the UK for letting off a mass murderer like the Lockerbie bomber; seems other countries are even barmier.

Not sure if you've noticed but we give hijackers a free house, benefits, freedom, human rights, and access to the NHS here :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Sometimes I couldn't imagine how linient is UK gov't and how strict they are.:NoNo:
They spent a fortune to combat crimes but at the end of the day, they also help thieves, criminals and bombers.

not just hijackers, terrorists (uk gov will not send them back in case they get death penalty for killing innocent people :icon_lol:)
and worse those who killed baby p, looks like when they will be released they will be give new id's and a new life, probably everything paid for by the tax payer, pitty they didn't spend some of that money protecting the little boy :NoNo: as with the killers of James Bulger, they should have got life not 8yrs. is that all his life was worth 8yrs in prison :doh

Not 8 years Joe,though the bulger case differed in that al-Megrahi has served 2 weeks for each person killed on flight 103,though its obvious he was a sacrificial lamb, the movers and shakers behind the scenes, the financers, distanced themselves and are never going to be punished.

In an ideal world HM Prison Service would leave a 15 foot length of rope and a pictorial String Yourself Up Guide in these germs cell

We are too civilised for that,I think a public-poll would agree with you,but there are lots of limp-wristed right-wingers who would sob into their cornflakes at breakfast at the very concept,I always said take the fight to your enemy, lets see how they feel when their families are wiped out or their brothers are beheaded in a cheaply filmed publicity stunt, but as I said,we are too civilised.
