I'm just about to purchase a ticket to bring my Fiancée to the UK, and I have been told by someone that I must get a return ticket, is this correct as she has a six month marriage visa and we are planning to get married before then, and not planning be going back..... also if I buy the ticket will there be a charge at the airport, because she has a philippine passport (been told that this is the case because the ticket is foreign?) any help on this would be appreciated?

With a fiancee visa you can get a SINGLE ticket
But you will need her passport number to book/confirm it.

When she gets to the point of departure (Manila ?), the airline will
check her passport vs the number you provided (when booking the ticket)

They will also check if she has the relevant CFO sticker to depart.

NB... if u book via a multiple website (opoda, asda etc) they may not ask
for the passport number there and then.
Later, you must contact the revelant airline (BA, Cathay etc), and re-confirm
the ticket & give them the passport number.

Hope this helps

As BlueBird pointed out - you do NOT have correct info...
No problem to buy a one way ticket - my Maricel just recently arrived on one (fiancée visa).
Don't forget about CFO - good point as well...
On the airport she will have to pay PHP 1.600 as a travel tax - only if you bought your ticket outside Philippines (over the internet etc.), if you bought the ticket through the agent in Phils the tax is included in price.
Also she will have to pay so called " airport user fee" at NAIA which is currently PHP 750...
So in total - tell her to keep about PHP 2.500 as pocket money for the airport:NoNo:
Good luck :xxgrinning--00xx3:

You can get a REFUNDABLE return ticket, and claim the other half back.
