So what do folk think of the 5th & 6th officials.

I still think it's better (and cheaper) to have the 4th official look at the replay! :Erm:

One of the official reasons for not having replays by FIFA is that grassroots football can't afford it.....so who is going to pay for 2 extra refs then? :doh
Anyway, it did seem to have some effect on the game (gave Everton a goal) :xxgrinning--00xx3: ......and if it stops some of the cheating in the area now they know they are being watched more, I'd say it was a good idea. But we need to see if play through the whole competition.

replays are the only way to see what really happens.

when theses extra refs are watching the game how will they get the right result, seems to me they will get results wrong.

refs can already do most things but never bother, like giving yellow cards for being sweared at.

the fact is in every game refs get things wrong, the only way is to review the game afterwards and go over everything.
fining or banning them for a few games isnt enough to stop them, after reviewing the game for every foul, dive, dirty play well anything the team gets points and enough points you take points of them!

no! leave it as it is.good and bad decisions have always been part of the fun or despair of footie.most of the lively discussions in the pubs often centre on "we was robbed" decisions go for you and against you it's always been a major factor in our game.as a man utd fan i gleefully recal leeds losing the league in the 70s due to west brom scoring a clearly miles offside goal! priceless:)on the down side the little argentiniun .... robbing england with his hand of sod.but i still dont want more officials and more breaks in the game, leave it as it is so years of arguements will continue!

You cannot have incorrect decisions in a multi-billion $$$$ worldwide business. Football is the only major sport left in the dark ages, and most of the errors are easy to rectify.

Goal line technology...Jeez...they spent $Millions including balls with transmitters :doh

How about this, a £5 webcam in the top corner of the goal looking along the goal line, and iffy ones, the 4th official reviews the feed. Simple :xxgrinning--00xx3:

That could even be easily used for grass roots Sunday games.

It's got to be done. I don't know what's taking them so long, more officials waste of time. so easy to set up, wouldn't waste that much time, whats a few more minutes to added time. There's been some shocking decisions in the past due to reffing errors, and I dont see that as adding entertainment to the sport. As a professional athlete myself :icon_lol: I wouldnt want to win something on a dodgy decision.

I think its better to put up cameras around the the pitch. One in each corner and one in the centre or middle. No one can escape that cause their every move is in there.
