This is the part you have you be wary of because they seem to dream up new requirements every day. One of the things they often ask for is the husband or fiance's divorce papers and one of the things they expect you to know is your husband or fiance's mother's maiden name. :Erm: The best thing to do if they ask you something about your husband or fiance that you don't know is just to make it up as you go along.

Well, bring about 5 or more pictures. They will return it back to you but they may ask 1 photo for their records.

Hi guys! just want to share my experience to you at SMEF- CFO in Quezon City.

Here's the documents they asked from me:
Original passport
3 photocopies of my passport
3 photocopies of my visa
seminar fee 250 pesos
CFO sticker 400 pesos
They didn't ask any pictures of me and my hubby. I guess it depends on the CFO counselor! Hope this will help!

you're right. it really depends on the councilor, mine didn't ask much since i already volunteered information about my husband and baby. :) the interview took me less than 5 minutes. :)

I live in Spain. When the Spanish or UK authorities introduce something which I consider unfair/inappropriate/ just plain wrong etc. I quite often take it up with them at a senior level. I consider that often although the `new thing' may not directly affect me, that with my back ground I am probably more able than some, and being retired, have more time, to pursue such problems.

I wish someone with a suitable background would take on the CFO seminar.

I have tried but as a foreigner I have been unable to get far. I have been given to understand that the seminars were introduced to provide assistance to those who were going to live in another country, to inform them of what they might expect and what they might do to protect themselves from abusive situation. A great idea.

Unfortunately, as we can seen from posts here, the CFO visit has become a thing of dread and is extremely variable. Surely there must be a Filipino who would want to pursue the problem so that the great idea of assisting people going to live abroad can be restored to what it was intended to be.

Sorry to repeat this yet again.

Remember when they ask you a question about your spouse or his family they do not know the answer, so you don't know you can say anything. For example, what school did he go to? Answer, The little place just along the road from where he was living. Or whatever springs to mind. That part of the process is a farce.
