Hello all

You are the first to know, Marikit has been really enterprising for a 6 month-old baby and will shotly be launching the first of 2 businesses. www.marikitcouture.com

Actually, I'm launching the first business in her name. Those who know me know that I like to dabble at a nuimber of things such as designing clothes. Pia and I have now put together our first collection. Check it out and let us know what you think. So far I've uploaded my shirts and suits, other items such as belts, cuff-links, socks will follow shortly. I'm happy to say that I 'm using many of the Philippines-based suppliers that service some of the biggest fashion brands in the world.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you my extended family members know why we've been quiet of recent.:)

All the best!!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Opps! Forgot to address the model search bit in the title. We're currently seeking models for a 'tacky' lifestyle sht which my Fashion Business Adviser thinks is essential. I cannnot imagine walking up to a lady in the sreet and declaring how attractive she is and would she like to do a spot of modelling. I'm sure many women have heard that line before.

Similarly, me telling bloke that he has great shoulders and bone structure...methinks not! :)

Hahaha! No, not money but rather what people do with it can be evil but it can also be very good indeed. Besides, we're running the business to ensure that other folk are adequately clothed...money will be an unfortunate byproduct....hopefully :D

Are you going to model the shirts lad? I am sure it be better to see it on a person. They look so bare on the mannequin.Hi Gary. Certainly the right models would look much better than dummies, so to speak. I had a number of shots of me wearing some of the shirts taken but my build is a bit heavy and i don't have the generic appeal that a model should perhaps have - a bit too ethnic methinks.

I'm currently looking for some male and female models to participate in a lifestyle shot involving some of my clothes.

I think you selling yourself short. Why don't you try yourself for a week, and see the response you get. I see your picture, and if I was going to buy a shirt there, I'm a big lad like you, it is better to see it on a normal guy than a skinny metrosexual Beckham clone. Plus your skin goes with the dark and monochrome colours. Go for it :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Best of luck with your venture, Toks.

I hope you can get through these difficult months of recession.

Your shirts look nice, I feel decidedly under-dressed in my sweats at the mo., but I do like a nice shirt and suit at times.
My smart dressing seems to have fallen by the wayside these days with our work commitments. When I take my wife out she often gets wolf whistles. :Cuckoo:

Professional looking website too :xxgrinning--00xx3:

LOL!!! Someone else mentioned that. I might look into that at some point. I'm working on my next batch of shirt designs now. Those will probably be priced around £130. They will be made by one of the finest tailors in Italy and are likely to be made from the best cotton available.

WOW! Congratulations, Toks & Pia on the forthcoming launch of your exciting new business venture. 'Marikit' ... what a novel :idea! We, your friends and co-forumers, are truly honoured to be the first to be told, and wish you every success with it. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

*Well now ... :Erm: it so happens that I've long had a hankering to be a [ahem] 'male model' ... :icon_lol: (Maybe it's a throwback to my mother having been a mannequin in her youth!) Joking apart though, would you SERIOUSLY consider a tall, slim - but well-built - 65-year-old natty dresser with a keen interest in quality clothing for gentlemen?

Apologies, i've been rather busy lately, trying to make some kwarta.

I certainly think that a spiffing chap such as yourself would look grand in one of my shirts particularly. I see you as representing possibly, the captains of industry i'm touting for custom.:)

You'll be interested to note that some of our shirts are now being made by one of the top shirt manufacturers in Italy. Our socks are from da Phils. The suits are made by the finest of English tailors.

I'm still trying to attract the attention of a credible celebrity to endorse our brand - any recommendations?

That's great!:xxgrinning--00xx3: I bought small socks here many times and I have noticed, they don't shrunk but stretched to the maximum XXL.:bigcry:

I have 5 year old sock made in Pinas by Darlington, and it's still fits.:Rasp:
