Are you referring to trip to the Philippines insurance? Whats your age? Pre-existing medical condition must be declared. Are you talking about yourself only?

Heres an example of what you should be looking for in a policy. The only difference is. The cheaper the policy, the less money is paid out.Look for a minimum of these things in the policy, and look at the amount paid out. Always check the amounts. They update them regular.

Well the one with the policy that suits you as a person. You probably better getting private medical insurance. I've been to the hospital in Phils, the bills can be 20,000 peso for up to 5 days. Do not get caught in one.

You have to plan ahead, and think of what could happen. Do you have all your jags for typhoid/diphtheria. Also Cholera in the water. Dengue and malaria occur in the Philippines; these diseases are transmitted by mosquitoes. An increase in the number of dengue cases has been reported in 2008, including in Metro Manila. There are no vaccinations against these diseases but there are preventative measures that you can take. You should visit your GP to discuss malaria prevention tablets. Boil your water always. Buy a kettle.

If you're looking for private insurance, be careful!
There are many private insurance in Pinas that I can say rubbish!
I have 2 nieces who were privately insured their college education, they are now both graduated at Uni and they didn't get any help from their insurance.
It was my bad experience to visit their office in Makati to ask about their help but they have no funds anymore. My sis and brod paid 5 years contributions to them but after that, they declared bankcrupcy :cwm23:

Thanks Jim, I was considering them too, but I was unsure about the details You any idea of the amount for coverage? Do you get a discount of your bill with Philhealth, or you claim it back Jim?

No,gary its for permanent residence,or long stay ie 12 months stay,and you can only get through your Pinay wife. sorry about the confusion i quoted you by mistake.

Well, since Jessica,my son and step daughter are there is it worth insurance just now. That what I was meaning.Jessica would have to pay every month.
