After hearing and seeing all the news of the typhoons in the Philippines the last few weeks, i was so glad that my wifes family were safe, then early on friday morning my wife had a phone call from her sis saying that her uncles family were buried in the landslides in cotcot, benguet, after a lot of help from my wifes brothers and neighbours they managed to rescue everybody apart from my wifes teenage cousin who sadly did not make it.
I have spent most of my time when i have been in philippines around baguio and benguet provinces, and to see so many pics showing all of the flooding , land movement and people struggling to survive brought me to tears, this area of the philippines has a special place in my heart and i have met so many decent and friendly people and i only hope that they have all survived this disaster.
God bless.

Sorry to hear the bad news yogurts. My condolences to your wife's family.
I watched the gmanews on the net. It's really devastating to see floods and landslides in Benguet and some of Pangasinan provinces. It really brought me to tears:bigcry:. They said they want to start again after the flood but no houses to go back to. They need food and shelter. Hope the funds coming from donors and other countries will go straight to the recipients.

Thankyou for all your kind messages.
I think we all know how strong willed filipino people are, they always turn a negative like this into a positive and they all live life to the full, no matter what happens in their lifetime.
Hopefully they will all be able to build up their country like it was before or better and try and move on from the last few weeks.

Just to add to the condolences and prayers. We have been following the news anxiously as well with many family members across Pangasinan and friends families in Benquet. Our immediate family near San Nicolas have no pwer are cut off in their barangay but are safe just running low on batt for mobiles as no power to recharge. They are close to the San Roque dam but have been lucky so far to only have two or three foot of water extra in thier fields and homes.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It's a beautiful region/country that has so many natural disasters. The people are so resilient and seem to smile through their tragedies which is very humbling.
