Hi there,

i thought i would introduce myself, I'm 28 and i stay in Hamilton, Scotland. My fiancee(Eloisa) had her visa granted last week(thanks to everyone here who put my mind at ease with their advice last week). She is flying out here a week today(29th).

I've found this site to be very useful and some great advice being given, I'll be looking here to help with the next visa, i suppose i'll need to start thinking about that soon too.

I'm very excited to show Eloisa around Scotland, i just hope she adjusts to the Scottish winter:D :Hellooo:

She will be just fine mate, and gives you the extra time to stock the cupboards with rice and clean the house up!! I took my girl on a sea plane ride once which scared the hell out of her and to be honest almost put me off flying it was so rocky so I feel its only right Im there to hold her hand ( or sick bag !! ) :D

Just make sure you stock up on rice, and get in some industrial size heaters, and get some thermals for her! lol

congrats mate.

Good on ya. I am sure she will be really tired after long trip on the plane, get her some rest in the Holiday Inn near Glasgow airport, then go back home in the morning :)

Here are some ideas on your doorstep:

we got the fiancee visa in about 6 weeks, certainly not as quick as some people have been getting here, but it was quicker than what we thought.

Are you waiting for one?

Just don't forget that she needs a CFO sticker before travelling, in case she still doesn't have one. :-)

hi scottie
yes i am waiting..actually, me and my husband keep looking at tracking application status..the status now is " under process at the briitsh high commission".its been like that for 4 days now..did you get the same status as me?if you did, after that, what status did you get?
it would help us to ease our minds to know your experience.
thanks:):):)

hi pumpkins,

Yes we had that status for ages, it only changed the day before she received her visa, it changed to "visa processed returned to courier"
She then received her visa the next day with a courier.

We also checked the status everyday and it became frustrating because it never changed.

Good luck and have faith, I hope it all goes well for you and your husband

just don't forget about her CFO sticker. She will need that. chest x-ray as well and she has to make sure to keep all that important documents in her hand luggage :) and congratulations to both of you! I have been here in the Northern Ireland for nearly 6 weeks now and I'm still not used to the cold and wet weather :( and Scottish weather is worst :P make sure you wrap her up when she gets there. and shop for loads of rice, rice cooker and loads of coats!!! hehehe..

May your fiancee have a safe trip to Scotland!! Cheers!

Hello again, Scottie ...

... from reading your various posts, I understand Eloise had been scheduled to fly out from the Phils on Thursday past. Hope all went well with her first experience of air travel, and trust she arrived safely in Glasgow after her "marathon" flights.

I'd like to take this opportunity of welcoming her to Scotland ... and wish you and your fiancee all the very best for the future together.

Cheers!
