depends what about the rest of the uk are you excluding them also from the survey?

Saying that im sure many Scots would not spend 100 pounds on themsleves:omg: let alone another person:D:Rasp:

In the past 100 pounds has gone each way for whatever reason. Bills, costs of holidays helping the other out..

Just like with my Wife Money has flowed to where its needed..

a hundred pound is a lot of money to me so i would have to say no if it were just on a whim, but if it were for something important then yes of coarse.

Why is it that men feel oblige to give women money, even if the women earn a decent wage?

Good question,I have had a few girlfriends who earned far more than me in the past, but the flow of cash was always one way whether paying for dinners, dates, flights or whatever, maybe its because we are conditioned to provide or because its a pride thing :Erm:Raven,I know what you mean,100 smackers is a fortune to me at the minute :)

Could be,you should balance the Poll however and ask if a pinay asked for £100 would they hand it over without quibbling :Erm:Women are women, whether pinay, scottish, chinese or inuit, good and bad in all creeds(I never dated an inuit, just guessing on that ethnicity).

Very true, especially if they're frae Paisley ;) :D

When I was young I had no money so the answer was no, when I got older I had no girlfriends for a very very long time so it was irrelevant.

Eventually I got some money and I did a lot voluntarily to help the mother of my daughter (my 15 years ex girlfriend at that point :))

Now the only British lassie that gets anything from me when she asks is my lovely 23 year old daughter :D

So I'm a stereotypical Scot in that sense :D

She rarely asks and only if she really needs it she's a real gem, just started her first job as a newly qualified teacher in a really good school near Chelmsford after finishing her Masters year at Durham, I am very proud of her!

It would only go on pints of beer, kebabs, body piercings, tattos, etc, etc.....:doh

In an ideal relationship - both people should know how their combined income stands - £100 means nothing if you both know that you have paid off your mortgage, kids have left home and you both have tidy pension and little outgoings...but if you both know that money is tight and he/she still asks for £100...when they know there is a big bill that needs paying...then the fault is with the person asking the question...not the person refusing...

Sharing the financial status means that he or she knows when it is sensible to ask for spare cash...

happydoc

I think the key is in sharing the knowledge about your combined financial status - if you both know that there are big bills that must be paid then neither will ask for the £100 for something less important...as a couple these things are better shared ... then nobody needs to refuse as the question is never asked...

hmm... maybe that is why I find myself single...

I agree! :xxgrinning--00xx3: It all depends on how much money you both have and if they really need it. If you have plenty of cash, then no problem or if they really need it, then you will do what you can to help, but if you don't have lots of spare cash and they don't need it, then maybe say what about a smaller amount or can you wait a little while? I would never ask for cash, and even if I did, it would be something that is really needed and I would say what I needed it for.

I think a lot of English women would go to Primark/George at Asda, spend maybe 20 on a few bits and bobs, and the rest would go on White Lightning, chips, kebabs, burgers and pizza.
I don't actually know any Filipina ladies, but from what I think I am learning is I would guess maybe spend the same 20 on clothes, and tuck away the 80 for a rainy day, or spend it on nice stuff for the house.
Not that I'm bitter and twisted about past experiences with English women of course.....
