Hello to all..
I have a Filipina friend and already here in UK for 7 yrs.She came here on a working visa and now on ILR status.
She has a daughter in the Philippines (9 yrs old), and she wants to get her here. Her husband passed away few yrs ago so grandparents are looking after her.My friend has no bf or partner here in the UK nor in the Phil.
My question is, what are the requirements/papers needed for her to submit to the embassy? Also, is it possible to lodge her daughter's application without her Mum's physical appearance? My friend just came back from the Philippines 2 weeks ago reason she can't go there to accompany her daughter for the application.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you po and God bless us all.:)

Hello, I wish your friend well, start by looking here :-

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/

There should not be any problems, if she has not broken any conditions of stay in the UK under her working visa and she has not overstayed in the UK for any length of time. There will be lots of useful information on this site. Sorry I cannot give you any accurate information at the moment as I am busy putting together my wifes ILR application ready for this monday.

Good Luck, if I find anything on here I will post the thread you need.

When I applied my visit visa, there was a leaflet in VFS that child can live w/ the parent/s, so that would be no problem 100%, how old is the daughter ? She can ask friend to accompany the child at vfs supported by the required docs, read the UKBA website as what Pauland Anilyn said

Sorry misread the post a little, I think it is SET(F) form? but take a look at the web site and download the form, it should indicate Independants on the form? I am not sure if this is the right form, but the site should give good guidance and the rest will be on here if you use the search button

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ukresidency/settlement/applicationtypes/

Guidance here see SET(F)

Again good luck

yes the above advice is correct, maybe find a family member who can take the application in to VFS, with ILR should not be a problem, good luck keep us posted
