Sending items to Philippines

Hi! Does anyone know of any decent and reasonable courier companies to send items to Philippines? I sent a package before by Royal Mail and it took 2 months to arrive! I thought it had been lost! Anyway, I need to send a box of Birthday and Christmas presents ( as her Birthday is 2 1/2 weeks before Christmas), but obviously the cheaper the better as I don't want to spend nearly as much on posting them as the value of the items if I can help it!

It's not going to be cheap. Parcel Force here http://www.parcel2ship.co.uk/acatalog/Parcel-Delivery-Philippines.html £65 up to 5kg.

A slower way but cheaper is to use one of the many freight consolidating/forwarding companies the UK based Filipinos use to send so called "balikbayan boxes" back home.

Mrs D uses Forex Cargo UK http://www.forexcargouk.com/ they seem a friendly reliable bunch

Yeah, that's a help thanks, although if I use Forex/UMAC it will arrive after her Birthday, so I'll have to decide soon and get wrapping presents! I'll let you know who I use in the end.

As an alternative and depending on what you were thinking of sending, have you thought of using a gift delivery company such as http://www.islandrose.net/ or http://www.philgift.com/

From previous posts, it has been used here before by several members and seems to be reliable.

Hi Tim, try to use INTERPARCEL web (http://www.interparcel.com/) - you will get comparison of prices from various companies and usually it is cheaper to send through Interparcel than through the delivery company (DHL etc) itself as Interparcel apparently got some discounts (without any influence on the quality or speed of service).

hello there! AMI and Hellmann worldwide are pretty good and can offer good rates on fedex and dhl rather than going to them direct!
Dedworth is right, consolidations are cheaper and could save u money depending on the spec of the freight/parcel.
I've used fed ex numerous times cus of my work discount! prices go up per 0.5kg.
be careful how u declare the goods! u could end up with a hefty customs charges! best bet is to declare as gift or personnal effects with a packing list! u can 'blag' some items and miss other items on the list ;).
I ve sent out marmite before lol as well as a brand new camera and didnt get charged!

P.S feel free to haggle with them! most agents will undercut one another to gain business, so use the skill of blagging if need be to get the price down, even if u make it up!
