Apart from the most famous example(or infamous judging by my personal dealings with her remittance company:NoNo:)Consuelo valencia farochilen,I just wonder if any other pinays have made it in business in the UK?Pinas is filled with cottage-industry tinderas able to double their money almost overnight to keep the wolf from the door and the family finances running on even keel, have any of them ever been able to bring their entrepreneurial skills with them and set up shop?Just a thought :)

The good ones won't bother leaving the Philippines, too much money to be earn't in your homeland if your good at business and some decent capital. Oh and you have the right friends in the right places :-)

Oh,I dont know about that,I know a few who have spread their wings and are doing very well on the states and canada, just never met any in the UK except Consuelo and she came here as a maid and spotted the gap,I am working on something with someone,I have a few quid salted away for rainy days, got a fool-proof and recession proof idea, and I know she has the organisational skills of Richard Bransons logistics manager, time will tell I guess.:)

Hi Tawi,
if your idea is sound then I am always on the look out for a good business prospect. I have very strong procurement and logistics connections throughout the Far East and in the Phils, just looking for the right idea to get my out of fat corporate comfort zone/strait jacket (arrggghhhh get me out of this multi site, multi cultural office politics please). PM me if you think we may be able to help each other.
