Procedure for church wedding in cebu.

So having read a few articles on weddings in the Philippines, am starting to get a little nervous. We've planned our wedding date for mid November, have found a hotel to accomodate the reception and guests from Manila and abroad.
We've been advised that we can marry in the Catholic church despite Marvie being annulled from a civil marriage and that i'm a baptised and confirmed Anglican.
Now the paperwork, so first of all I need to get the CNI Certificate of No Impedance. Well this is problem number 1 as either in the UK or Philippines it takes 3 weeks, and then is only valid for 3 months. Well I'm going to be working in Nice again next summer and work will only book my flights back to Manila and not via the UK. So the only option I see is flying back to the UK on a weekend off from work and trying to find a way to get the CNI then.
Then the excitement starts because I plan to arrive in Manila 20 days before the wedding, and only head down to Cebu a few days before the marriage.
In that time I believe we have to have some kind of interview and get a certificate to marry or something and get my CNI endorsed by the Embassy.

So if anyone has done this process via a church recently, and knows the times and who to see and what needs doing when, then it would be much appreciated. This is going to be a logistical nightmare!

Ricky I also had the problem with not being in the UK to get my CNI since I was still on a ship. I wrote a letter authorisng one of my parents to collect it from the resgistry office and send it to the Philippines via courier, your fiancee can take it to the British Embassy and get the locally approved CNI. Just state in your letter to registry office that you are currently unavailable to collect your CNI due to work commitments, but don't tell them that you have been out the country for a prolonged period, otherwise they will refuse to issue you one. Also you will be required to fill in a mixed religion application and meet certain requirements before getting clearance to marry in the Church, believe me it is a pain in the :butthead:! You will need a recent baptism certificate, a letter from your church stating it is okay for you to marry in the Catholic church and that you have not been married before. Funny I had to send a crawling letter to my local church, I haven't been there in at least 15 years. Good luck!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

12 months that is plenty of time to plan and book your wedding, i had my wedding planned for 3months in the philippines first thing you need to plan the date of the wedding book the hotel reception if you want hotel in your reception, the foods menu, church if you want church wedding, church seminar, wedding entourage, choose your gown and etc. then most of all gather your all documents for the wedding and for the visa application documents.

No not really, they seem quite happy to give the CNI's out as long as the fee is paid, it was actually easier than I thought it would be.
